Shakers are flying biggrin.gif

I drove past their ground yesterday. Not been there for years.

Yeah Bury are doing great, unlike the Mighty Dale. Massive derby at Oldham and lost 2-0

I listened to Sheff Utd destroy Bury on the official club commentry last night, 4-0.

Onwards and upwards for the Blades at the moment, lost two strikers this week and brought non in to replace them. Although it was planned for but missed the deadline time, for two boys from Rangers to join the club.

If , and its a big if, Sheff Utd keep up this momentum, we should stay around the top all season. We have some stronger teams to play yet, MK Dons and Charlton. Looking forward to our cross city battles.

I must say that Danny Wilson is a breath of fresh air at the club, we have quite a few players in the team that were dreadful last year but who are now starting to shine. Nice one Danny !!

Up The Blades :)

Bad start to the season for the mighty Exeter. But it's hardly surprising weve lost a 20 goal striker jamie curaton ,a 15-20 goal a seaon midfielder ryan harley check out his hme debt goal 4 Brighton, our skipper and C/B matt taylor to Charlton who also now have the goalkeeper we had for the second half of our season, and at the weekend we're playing at this seasons moneybags Charlton, where last season we were totally amazing, small hope this season ,just to add to our situ weve been hit really hard with injuries <deleted>!!! Still we live to fight another day. Come on u reds!!!!0

Notts County draw 1-1 with Juventus in Turin stadium debut

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14847404.stm

Lee Hughes scored a late equaliser as Notts County earned a memorable 1-1 draw with Juventus in Turin.

County were invited by the Italian giants to commemorate the opening of Juventus' new 41,000-seat arena with an exhibition match.

Luca Toni scored the first goal in the new stadium, tapping in after Rob Burch had parried Fabio Quagliarella's 53rd-minute penalty.

But Hughes' scrappy finish ensured a special result for the League One side.

After the match County captain Neal Bishop told BBC Sport: "It was a special night to be part of. There were a few butterflies in the stomach during the opening ceremony but we're very proud of the performance and the result.

"We've been looked after first class, no player played over sixty minutes so we will be raring to go for Saturday's match against Walsall."

Bishop added that playing against Juventus legends Gianluigi Buffon, Alessandro Del Piero and new signing Andrea Pirlo could only act as a spur for County's season.

"It was a wonderful experience. Watching them play, how they would keep their heads up, pass forward and be willing to start again if needed was great to watch."

Juventus had chosen County as their opponents to celebrate the 108-year link between the clubs, which dates back to the year Juve decided to adopt the black and white shirts worn by the Magpies.

It was John Savage, an Englishman playing for Juventus, who in 1903 arranged for replacement shirts to be sent to the Italian club by a County-supporting friend back home, and Juventus have worn the black and white stripes Notts County traditionally play in ever since.

A return fixture between the two sides at Meadow Lane is planned before the start of the 2012/13 season.

See Mark Clemmit's report from Turin on Football Focus - Saturday 10 September, 1130 BST.

Notts County 2 -1 Walsall

A good win for Notts at the Lane after a busy week.

Some grumbling on the fan sites about poor behaviour by a very small but obnoxious bunch of young Notts fans at the Juventus game. Question was raised, too, why it is that these guys have the money to go when other, responsible fans, just couldn't afford it?

Losing at Charlton, was always on the cards however the manner in which we lost leaves a touch bitter taste. They 4 all there riches arnt a particularly good team and with 11 players and/ or full strength team/squad , I'm pretty sure sure we could have beaten them. sorry but nothing has changed my mind about Chris Powell, nice guy, but he aint a v good manager.

Another home defeat for Exeter, things really arnt going our way, and the worrying thing is that we played really well until they scored and then our heads went down, thats really not a good sign, turning this around, imo, biggest career challenge yet for our star spangled manager paul tisdale

Rochdale at the Lane next week, Mr BJ. Could be interesting.

3 points in the bag for you then Xang. At the moment Rochdale are not being too mighty !!

You were right, Mr BJ.

Notts County 2 - 0 Rochdale

I guess the Dale are in a team-building phase, or the manager's giving high praise to Notts. His comment after the game was: "It wasn't as tough as we thought - the actual 90 minutes.

Nice to see ( or rather hear ) Sheffield United put 4 past PNE last night, nice one. It was a shame to throw a 2-0 lead away against our city rivals in the last 10 minutes at the weekend. Shame.

Colchester United 4 Notts County 2

But for a couple of bad misses and some very good saves from County goalkeeper Stewart Nelson , the U's should have gone in at half time

at least 3-0 up, such was our dominance. The second half begun much in the same way as the first half ended with the U's bossing the match. Anthony Wordsworth made it 1-0 just after the restart with Sodje equalising 10 minutes later. But further goals from Antonio,Henderson and Odejayi sealed the victory. A late consolation goal came for County in extra time via a Heath own goal.

Now exeter have a settled group of players and most are fit, our season is beginning to go well,in the last 8 days 7 points out of a possible 12 6 goals scored away from home, And going to sheff utd, arguably one of the top teams in the div, and sharing the spoils in an 8 goal thriller. watch out div one exeter are on the march, again!!!!
