A good 3 away points for exeter all be it from bottom club chesterfield. Our confidence is still low but we have the players fit again and hopefully our season can kic on from here. We have more than enuf ability to end up well away from the drop zone. famous last words.!!!!

In the FA Cup 3rd Round yesterday.....

Macclesfield Town 2 Bolton Wanderers 2clap2.gif

A great performance by the Silkmen against Premiership opposition.Boltons equalizer,13 minutes from time,by David Wheater would not have happened if Wheater would have been sent off for bringing down a Macc player, whilst being the last defender, earlier !

Two other excellent results for our featured teams with Swindon beating Premiership Wigan and Notts County winning 2-0 away at Championship side,Doncaster ! partytime2.gif

I know the feeling mate, we had the same against Wycombe the week or so b 4,played well, got awarded a penalty missed it and went on and lost, Tisdale has done abso miracles at Exeter and fit we have more than a good enuf team at this level, but we aint got any wedge so no depth in the squad , but the stick our fans have been giving him for a poor first half of the season. due mainly to a bad injury list, UNBELIEVABLE, but enuf of our woes !!!! good luck 4 the rest of the season

Hugely important game in 1st Division on Sunday, Sheff Wed (3rd place - 5 points behind Utd.) v Sheff Utd ( second place with two games in hand over Wed).

This is certainly one of the most important local derbies in recent times.

If Sheff Utd win they will move 8 points away from Wed with two games in hand.

If Sheff Wed win, then gap is closed to 2 points and they will stay in 3rd. Wed, having lost the last two games, are sure to be all out for a win at home. Utd are flying at the moment and want to extend the points gap to push for automatic promotion back to the Championship.

Ooohhh the suspense, bring it on.

Come On You Blades!!!!

Sheff Wed won the derby, begger.

Not to worry, two games in hand and two points more should keep United on course for second place.

The Blades midfield wasn't effective enough plus the substitutions were about 20 minutes too late in the game.

A 2-0 defeat at huddersfield and well, we come away with plaudits and our fans saying we played well, but no points we just cant seem to pull away from the relegation zone. partly due to the teams below hitting a bit of form BUt tbh I thought that once injury free we'd be ok, but were playing well with a fully fit squad but position and points wise were still struggling, Still onwards and upwards, hopefully.

Oxford United 1 Macclesfield Town 1

Believe it or not this was Maccs first point of 2012 after 8 consecutive defeats !

Injuries have decimated the team, with up to 10 players missing from a small squad and they have slipped from just being outside the play offs into a relegation dogfight.

Some of the long term injuries look likely to be back in the next week or two so,hopefully, they can start to pull away from the drop zone.

Wouldn't be too sure with Danny 'the bottler' Wilson in charge.

Danny Wilson has changed the mood and performance for the better at Bramall Lane. Don't forget that Sheff Utd went through 4 managers last season.

The Blades fans that have commented on forums agree that the loss was a disappointment, but still in second place with 2 games in hand / 2 points above third is still a good place to be.

Tomorrow night see's Scunthorpe's trip to the lane......3 points in the bag on the way.

Well, yeah. And he did the same at Swindon and Bristol City and MK Dons, and so on.

However, the guy has the personality of a wet lettuce and his teams have a tendency to choke when success is in sight. He's also a one season wonder, don't expect a good season next season even if you don't manage to go up.

Thanks for the optimism.

The club and team are desperate to get back into the Championship this year. Up to now, Danny seems to be doing a very good job don't yer think?

Perhaps its that we have had a string of poor managers (starting with Bryan Robson after Warnock resigned).

With regards to the clubs Danny Wilson has managed, Sheffield United are by far the biggest and a 60% win rate is'nt too bad (granted, the lowly division we are in,,,,,unfortunately).

As you may know, Notts County have changed their manager again. I still don't know why, but apparently there had been some tension for a while between Martin Allen and the Chairman, and it came to a head during or after the Hartlepool game, which Notts lost 3-0. Martin Allen appeared to have a swelling over one eye at the post-match press conference.

There was an outcry from fans, as Allen was very popular, and Ray Trew, the Chairman, threatened to walk away. But he didn't, and appointed Keith Curle as manager, the upshot being that Notts have won all three games under Curle and are level on points for the play-offs, so the complaints have died down. I suppose we'll find out eventually why Martin Allen was sacked, but he seemed a good man to me.

Seems to be catching as Gary Smegson was sacked by Sheff Wed last night. It was broadcast during Sheff Utds win over Scunthorpe. Also a bit of a mystery why to sack him while they are 3rd and just beat The Blades at the weekend.

Must have fallen out with Mandy, the clubs chairman.

A midweek 2 nil loss at brentford, seems exeter are bring drawn slowly but surely into the relegation zone and unable to pull clear . weve taken jamie curaton bac on loan from orient which seemed to give everyone a boost , he scored 20 for us last season and he suits our style of play, but 2 games no goals!!! harsh but we need to start winning more, its not impossible to see it happening weve got some v v good players ,but maybe lacking a little experience, the sort of experience that says weve been there done it and are not fazed we had this with stewart and edwards who both retired close season!! Anyway onwards and upwards well maybe not, milton keynes away next, <deleted> although traditionally we all ways play well there but tend come away with nothing,
