US Military Expands Lethal Strikes on Drug Boats in Pacific

George had a classified legal opinion, too.

Coincidentally, George's memo used the term "enhanced interrogation", a direct translation of the term "verschärfte Vernehmung" from the Gestapo memo making it all nice and legal.

The Gestapo memo forbids waterboarding, hypothermia and several other techniques that the Bush Administration permits. And it imposed strict limits on how these “enhanced techniques” could be used – requiring oversight and permits.

By the way don't take my post out of context. Quote who I was replying to please.

I quoted your entire post, nothing taken out of context.

I don't quote the person you reply to.  That's not how this forum quote function works.

I was replying to you replying to my comment regarding the validity of "memos" to make illegal acts legal.

YOUR comment requesting a photo of Hamas was simple whataboutism.

We've become the baddies, or at least we no longer try to hide it.

Off topic deflection posts and replies about Palestine and Iraq have been removed.

Happy that you admit that.

Drug dealers love this ,an oversupply means low prices. The more they intercept the more the price goes up for the successful smugglers.

When ICJ takes this on the fall guy will be Hegseth.  DT will say he had no idea it was happening and learned about it from the teevee, like he always does -- the entities that actually report news will split-screen it to show otherwise.  And Hegseth isn't smart enough to be setting up a fall guy of his own.

As a history prof said "The difference between JFK and LBJ was that Kennedy did not realize the value of having stupid people on his team."  Have a drink on the boss, Pete!

BTW, Jack Smith was working at The Hague before Garland's faux pursuit of DT.   Maybe Smith should send POTUS an xmas card saying "See ya soon, bro!"  Unfortunately things move incredibly slowly over there, and DT will be in his nineties when the trials begin.

indeed, back in the day one of the major cartels in columbia, might have been pablo escobar's gang "supported" the most anti drugs presidential candidate  in the elections for the very same reason

No, of course I have a different opinion. The root cause of the problems we have in the USA right now is the far right, which is the home of White supremacy, xenophobia, fascism, capitalism, and a president who wants to be a king. 😞

Democrat Party.  The party of slavery and the KKK.

Educate yourself.

which is the only way ,   How could we rely on the socialist model of being ruled successfully by retards, the previous  US administration was an example of that ,  just as the current one in the UK is  failure guaranteed

Historically has there been any long term   successful civilisation that been created and run by idiots of course not     Its not natures way and therefore will never succeed

Check what you great leftie leader Joseph Stalin did to his own people.

Millions dead. Same as Mao.

Useful and useless idiots.

Like all right-wingers, you only respond to criticism by blaming it on someone else having done it before. Usually, it's Biden. I call it the "He hit me first!" syndrome. If you think the actions of others were wrong, you should not repeat them. Of course, that's a "woke" truism, so not one you'll accept as appropriate.🥺

Nonsense.

I think the holocaust was wrong.

Am I to not repeat this?

Just brush over millions of dead because some soft lefties can't handle the truth?

No, using your remarks above as a model, I would respond with the following:

I'm sure everyone on this forum is aware of the horrific recent history of the Jewish people. They were victims of the German Nazis who:
- hated them because they thought they were an inferior race
- based this hatred on their delusion of Caucasian superiority;
- cruelly discriminated against the Jews because of that;
- seized their property and left them homeless;
- forced them to live in small, confined areas (concentration camps);
- indiscriminately killed their innocent men, women, and children;
- eventually expanded their violence to bordering countries, and then expanded that even further.

Now, the right-wing Israelis are waging wars in Gaza because they:
- hate the Palestinians and believe they are inferior because they are Arab Muslims;
- believe all of the area that used to be called Palestine belongs to them because it was promised to them by their historical religious texts and a delusion of a god;
- cruelly discriminate against the Palestinians because of that;
- seize their property, leaving them homeless;
- force them to live in small, confined areas (Gaza and the shrinking parts of the West Bank);
- indiscriminately kill their innocent men, women, and children;
- are expanding their violence to bordering countries, starting with Lebanon.

If the Nazis were wrong in the way they treated the Jews, why would right-wingers now think that the way the Israelis are treating the Palestinians is okay?

If you are "woke," you want to change that for the better.

I'm neither woke not MAGA.

Just a normal thinking human.

So, I'd call that politically, an independent. I'm actually an Independent too, I'm not really a Democrat. My views are much farther left than the Democrat Party would accept. I usually vote for the Democrat candidate, but I'd vote for anyone from any party who has social and economic views closer to mine.

In the USA, no one trafficking in even a Class 1 (the worst) Drug or smuggling is subject to the death penalty. Also, the person would have to be accused, tried, and convicted before any sentence was given.  And, even someone accused of mass murder (or being in the country illegally) has the right to a trial.

Congratulations -- you have independently discovered one of the very most important reasons why we need to secure the borders: once scum enter the USA, they are entitled to at least a certain amount of due process. That is, of course, far less of a problem when they're enemy combatants outside our borders.

On behalf of the American electorate, thank you for helping justify several Trump Administration policies!
