The First Army Region has denied issuing any order to reopen the Thai-Cambodian border crossing at Ban Khao Din in Sa Kaeo province, following online claims that the checkpoint would reopen on 1 November 2025. The clarification came on 27 October after reports circulated suggesting that military personnel had been told to prepare for the resumption of cross-border operations in Khlong Hat district.

In an official statement, the First Army Region confirmed that no such instruction had been made under its command or within the jurisdiction of the Burapha Task Force, which oversees the Sa Kaeo border area. The army reiterated that the current policy to keep the Thai-Cambodian border closed in its area of responsibility remains unchanged.

Officials stressed that any decision regarding the reopening of international border crossings must come from the central government and be coordinated through the appropriate national security and foreign affairs agencies. The army urged the public not to believe or share unverified information that could cause confusion or misunderstanding about border policy.

The First Army Region’s statement aims to dispel speculation amid heightened public interest in potential border reopening plans. Authorities have not announced any new schedule for resuming operations at Ban Khao Din or other crossings in the area.
