Kamala Harris Explodes Over Trump’s $300M Ballroom Amid SNAP Crisis

Former Vice President Kamala Harris unleashed a furious tirade at President Donald Trump during an appearance on The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart, slamming his privately funded $300 million ballroom project as “obscene” while millions of low-income Americans face hunger during the ongoing government shutdown.

“Are you f---ing kidding me?” Harris snapped. “This guy wants to build a ballroom for his rich friends while babies are going to starve when SNAP benefits end in hours. Come on.”

Her outburst came as the Trump administration confirmed it would not use $5 billion in contingency funds to sustain food aid for 42 million Americans through November, citing political gridlock. The move threatens to cut off assistance during the Thanksgiving season, intensifying public anger over the shutdown that began October 1.

Meanwhile, Trump’s lavish ballroom — replacing part of the East Wing — is being financed by donors from Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and Big Oil, many of whom have business ties to the administration. Contributors reportedly include executives from Amazon, Apple, Google, and Meta, along with oil tycoon Harold Hamm, financier Stephen Schwarzman, and crypto giants Coinbase and Tether. Several Trump-appointed officials also appear on the donor list.

Trump has refused to reveal how much each backer contributed, claiming only that “patriotic Americans” are footing the bill. One unnamed donor allegedly pledged $130 million to offset military pay during the shutdown — a gesture critics say highlights the administration’s blurred lines between private influence and public responsibility.

Harris dismissed Trump’s “rich friends” defense as callous and hypocritical. “It’s important we not conflate disruption with destruction,” she said, accusing him of dismantling the very institutions he claims to champion.

As negotiations stall in Congress, the shutdown threatens to become the second-longest in U.S. history. Without intervention, millions of Americans could lose access to food, healthcare, and housing support within days — while construction of Trump’s glittering ballroom marches on.

Key Takeaways:

  • Kamala Harris blasted Trump’s $300M ballroom as “for his rich friends” amid the SNAP crisis.

  • The Trump administration is refusing to extend food benefits for 42 million Americans during the shutdown.

  • Big Tech, Wall Street, and oil donors are reportedly bankrolling the president’s new ballroom project.

Sadly, the way a lot of it is structured, they'd lose out on a lot of their freebies if they actually took a job.  Or if they started living in a 2 parent household.

Can't say that's 100% on the Dems but most of it is.  Keeping their voters dependent on the gub'ment tit is their best vote getter.

I doubt those doing the builiding of the ballroom will be on food stamps as all will need to be security background folks so probably already have a contractor with the builders necessary.  MHO anyway.

from the news reports, both in print and video, the Republican states have some of the highest number of SNAP recipients.  If the Republicans could ever get their own health insurance package together or fix the big pharmas, doctors and hospitals costs then there would be no problem.  IMHO the dems should not have approved the BBB so it wouldn't be an issue right now.  Also the Congress folks continue to get paid, DEMs are standing by ready to negotiate while the Republicans are being kept out so that they don't have to swear in that Arizona recently elected representative which would then enable the dems to get the Epstein files released to the public.  The entire Congress needs to be replaced by the voters IMHO but I would only be one vote in the millions!

Have you read the other leftists descriptions of Trump and other Republicans?

And neither do you .  Nothing.

The Shumer shutdown is exactly that.  Shumer shutdown.

That's why MSM credibility is at historic lows.  It's the Blue areas in those Red states...  Though there are some extremely poor areas of, for example, Appalachia that vote Red and are predominately white.  So it's not a race thing.  It's a culture thing.

Bad news for Dems is when their own party member (Fetterman) is calling them out for using people on SNAP as pawns.

Though I agree that Repubs aren't a whole lot better when it comes to buying votes.  The main difference is that Dems pander to the poor and Repubs pander to the zillionaires.  Collectively, I refer to them as the Uniparty.  Or the Demicans and Republicrats.

Kamala Harris Explodes

If only that were true !

A lot of these folks are not only poor, lack advance education and thus cannot compete with those coming out of schools - the unemployment rate for the country is around 4.x % but for high school and college graduating it is almost double the national average.  Each month for the last 6 months, the number of jobs has decreased and meanwhile AI replacementing many of the lower skilled folks or AI folks that developed the robots replacing them so the job market is not very good at the moment.  A sad state of affairs for too many!

With Trump's history in the real estate, wonder if he will find any contractors that want to work for him

With kickbacks, of course.

Is it true that Putin is having a giant AI data center installed under the new "ballroom" and that it is to be nuclear powered?

I thought the court put a stop to the ballroom? Why is no one protesting this?
