Police in Nakhon Pathom have launched a murder investigation after a woman’s body was discovered weighted down with concrete in a canal in Bang Len district. The grim discovery was made at around 06.30 on November 5, 2025, when officers from Bang Len Police Station were alerted to a corpse floating in the Khlong Prakarn canal in Moo 6, Bang Len subdistrict.

 

Upon arrival, investigators led by Police Lieutenant Thanat Khamma, duty investigator at Bang Len Police Station, found the body of a woman floating face down and decomposing, emitting a strong odour. She was wearing black shorts and a brown lace sleeveless top. The body had been tied around the waist with an electrical cable attached to a concrete block, believed to have been used to weigh her down.

 

Police Colonel Apisak Kamnerd, Superintendent of Bang Len Police Station, along with forensic officers from Region 7 and volunteers from the Nakhon Pathom Suksan Anurak Foundation, attended the scene. Initial examinations indicated the woman had been dead for at least four to five days. No identification documents were found on the body and authorities suspect the case is a homicide, with the victim’s body dumped in the water to conceal the crime.

 

Local officials have been asked to check whether any residents in the area have recently gone missing. Village headwoman Nattaporn Thasee of Moo 6 said that the deceased did not resemble anyone known from the community and confirmed that no missing person reports had yet been filed. She said she was waiting for police confirmation of the victim’s identity.

 

A local resident, 46-year-old Pornchai Sroithong, said he discovered the body while checking a water pump near the police station around 06.20. He immediately alerted authorities after noticing what appeared to be a woman’s corpse floating near the canal embankment.

 

Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas to trace any suspicious vehicles or individuals that may have transported the body. Police are also cross-referencing missing person reports and old case records to determine possible links to the deceased.
