A 52-year-old French national and a Thai delivery rider heroically rescued a Thai ladyboy from the swift currents of the Chao Phraya River in Chainat province, central Thailand. The incident occurred on November 5 and was captured on CCTV as the ladyboy jumped into the river from Phrom Prasert Road in Mueang district. The quick intervention by the French man, identified as David from Marseille, and the Thai rider saved her life.

The woman initially climbed over a fence before leaping into the dangerous waters, prompting onlookers to shout for help and notify the police. Despite the strong currents, David and a passing delivery rider braved the waters to reach and secure her, eventually pulling her to safety. The woman received medical attention at a local hospital as relatives and officials ensured her well-being.

David recounted his spontaneous decision to jump into the river upon hearing cries for help. His background and experience as a strong swimmer from Marseille, a city surrounded by water, were crucial in the successful rescue. He noted that teamwork was integral, crediting another Thai man for also jumping in and others for providing a life buoy.

Authorities commended the bravery and speed of David and the delivery rider, highlighting the case as an example of international cooperation and heroism. Their actions were recognized as vital in preventing a tragedy that day, showcasing the strength of human solidarity.

Looking forward, officials stress the importance of continued community vigilance and readiness in emergency situations. They plan to promote safety measures and awareness to prevent similar incidents along the river banks. The local authorities also expressed their appreciation to the foreign and local members of the community for their selfless acts and bravery.
