November 10, 2025Nov 10 File photo for reference only In a twist to the UK's "one in, one out" migration scheme, a migrant sent to France has reappeared in the UK. The Home Office confirmed the man was detained using biometric identification and is set to be returned to France promptly. This incident marks the second known case where a migrant deported under the new deal has returned to British shores. The pilot scheme with France, launched in September, aims to curb the influx of migrants via the English Channel in small boats. A similar occurrence last month involved an Iranian man who re-entered the UK a month after his removal, only to be deported again. Officials assert a commitment to detecting and expelling any individuals attempting to make a return. This recent development coincides with the UK sending its first small boat migrant back to France on 18 September. To date, 94 migrants have been returned under this agreement, while 57 new arrivals have been processed in the UK. Despite these efforts, over 39,000 migrants have crossed the Channel this year, prompting Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to propose overhauls inspired by Denmark's more stringent immigration policies. The government maintains that these repeated detections exemplify the system's efficiency, with Downing Street underscoring the waste of resources for returning migrants. However, this scenario has drawn criticism. Liberal Democrat spokesman Max Wilkinson called for comprehensive return agreements, arguing that current failures expose deep systemic issues. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp pointed out the scale of the challenge, noting that nearly 18,000 migrants have arrived since the new deal's inception. Calling for robust measures, Philp criticised Labour Leader Keir Starmer for lacking decisive action on immigration, according to the BBC. The UK government continues to stress the importance of deterrence, with plans to fortify its border controls. Meanwhile, opposition voices call for more humane and effective immigration strategies. November 11, 2025Nov 11 I wonder if they paid him to agree to deportation like they did with the Ethiopian sex offender who was mistakenly released from jail and now freely wanders the streets of Ethiopia with 500 quid in his pocket? It could be quite a money spinner. Come over on a boat, get 500 quid to board a flight back to France. Come back over on a boat, a few days in a 4 star hotel FOC, another 500 quid to leave etc. The UK government are absolute mugs.

November 12, 2025Nov 12 I suppose France has no interest as Britain now has its sovereignty back to deal with its own borders.
