Epstein File Release Moves to Senate After 427–1 House Vote

In a stunning move, the House voted 427-1 on Tuesday to direct the Justice Department to release all files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Only one member, GOP Rep. Clay Higgins from Louisiana, opposed the decision. This decision follows intense intra-party squabbles within the GOP about the investigation's transparency.

Months of infighting have plagued the GOP, culminating in this nearly unanimous vote.

Accusations of a cover-up have long fuelled the controversy surrounding the release of Epstein's files. THis vote marks a significant milestone, prompting the Senate to swiftly decide whether to send the measure to President Trump.

Experts believe that, if passed, the release of these files could have wide-ranging implications. Political analysts speculate this could shake up the party dynamics, given Trump's previous dismissal of the investigation as a “Democratic hoax.” HHowever, the President has indicated that he is willing to sign the bill if it is approved by the Senate.

The measure's next steps lie with Senate GOP leaders, who must decide whether to send the bill to the president's desk. The outcome could potentially affect public perception of justice in high-profile cases, such as Epstein's. OObservers are keenly watching for the Senate's decision, anticipating the potential reverberations across the political and legal landscapes, reported CNN.

Key Takeaways:

  • House votes overwhelmingly to release Jeffrey Epstein’s files.
  • Only one House member voted against the measure.
  • The measure now awaits the Senate’s decision and presidential approval.

This isn’t transparency, this is the administration being painted into a corner.   Trump’s efforts to conceal the files will continue .

  • Ketchup everywhere!   Mind you, such unanimous votes rather suggest some orchestration! Perhaps we should wait and see what happens next? There will be a cunning plan Mr Blackadder!

More like there are some Dems and bankers throwing plates around. Release everything and let's see just who's in them remembering that there's no guilt simply by association. Interestingly it seems the Clinton's are refusing to appear before the House Oversight Committee even though being issued subpeonas.

Why haven’t Democrats shown the same transparency — and what else are they hiding?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-U.S. Virgin Islands) solicited (and was given) $30,000 from Epstein for the DCCC after he was already a convicted sex offender? Or the fact that Plaskett herself accepted maxed out donations from Epstein for her own campaign? Or the fact that the wife of the former Democrat governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands told Epstein “we would have a friend in Stacey” if he made said donations? Or the fact that Plaskett was literally texting Epstein during a committee hearing?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that former President Bill Clinton traveled on Epstein’s aircraft 26 times? Or the fact that one of Epstein’s victims wrote that she saw Clinton on Epstein’s island with two young women? Or the fact that Clinton’s visit to the island was corroborated by one of his former top aides?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the “long relationship” and storied friendship that Larry Summers — ex-Harvard President, Clinton Treasury Secretary, and prominent Democrat — had with Epstein, who described himself as Summers’ “wing man”?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that Democrat so-called “journalist” Katie Couric had dinner at Epstein’s residence after he was already a convicted sex offender who had served jail time?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that Reid Hoffman — billionaire Democrat megadonor — visited Epstein’s “pedophile island,” attended a dinner with him, and even planned to stay at his New York mansion?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that the Democrat National Committee refused to return $32,000 in donations from Epstein?

Why aren’t Democrats talking about the fact that Michael Wolff “encouraged Jeffrey Epstein to blackmail then-presidential candidate Donald Trump — insisting the convicted pedophile could generate a ‘debt’ from him”?

Because it's politics.  Why would Democrats "talk about" matters that are negative for them?  Does Trump and the GOP "talk about" things that are negative for them?  You need to understand how politics works!

Yes it is politics but it's now more than this. People on here have been crying out for the full release of the files because they have Trump ....... . Now the tables are being turned and all we hear are crickets.

These matters are already in the public domain. The link you provided shows that the Whitehouse is doing it's level best to keep them in the public domain.

The files, facts, potential evidence, however you wish to call it, that people, political and non political, US citizens and others, have been calling to be released are those pertaining to one Donald Trump, these are the ones which have been suppressed.

That is why banging the drum about Clinton et al is just deflection. Still, rest easy, you have done your duty.

The problem for Trump is that now the dam has been breached, can he control what water is spilled out? Much effort and energy will be sent now in attempting this likely impossible task. Clinton and all the others you and the Whitehouse link fingered should face the consequences of their actions, if they committed crimes, (socialising or having dinner with Epstein, whilst unsavoury is not a crime as such of course) and investigation should lead to such consequences.

Trump should likewise undergo investigation and punishment; his involvement predates his entry into politics and so presumably is not covered by any sort of immunity. If the criminal ( as opposed to social) allegations against them are supported by evidence, then they should be prosecuted and punished. The same must apply to Trump.

Nothing to worry about, Bondi herself has declared there's nothing in the files.

This is a great development and an enormous humiliation for Trump, who spent months calling it a hoax, and doing everything he could to deflect, to deny, and to insist that it wasn't an issue, after spending years making such a big deal about it.

Anytime somebody goes to that extent they must be guilty, if there was nothing to hide why wouldn't he have just insisted on releasing the files to begin with?

His friendship with Epstein was two decades long he likely spent a lot of time at the mansion, he likely visited Orgy Island many times, and he likely participated, and was very active in Epstein's pedophilia ring. That is just who he is as a man. A real lowlife.

This isn’t transparency, this is the administration being painted into a corner.

Trump’s efforts to conceal the files will continue .

The full, complete files, of the FBI's partial redacted files?????

Ahhh nope but nevertheless the winners will be the American people by getting the amoral child rapists out of our government no matter what political party.

All we can conclude is that the files have been scrubbed of any mention of Trump. They are therefore safe to release.

From an online newsletter:

Then it came out that Bondi had told Trump his name was in the files and had ordered a top-to-bottom review of the files, pulling some 1,000 FBI agents over to flag and record any mention of Trump. When asked by Congress about this effort, both Bondi and Patel grew defensive and combative and refused to provide details or confirmations of what they knew.

The above is documented fact. You can verify that it is true.

So does your deity he was Epsteins BEST friend for DECADES……we also know he thinks it’s ok to grab the lady’s by their privates and was fornicating with an old pornstar with his wife at home taking care of their new born.

Ok Mr Presiddnt, all cleaned anc bleached, now you can release them..

Bet there's still a bunch that got "lost"

I believe if (now "when") these files are released, they will have so many redactions (blacked-out text) that they will not reveal much. Of course, it's possible the redactions will only be Republican names, not Democrats’. 🥺

Mr. Flip, let me introduce you to Mr. Flop.

Doesn't anyone find it somewhat bizarre that the same Republicans, including Trump, who bent over backwards to prevent the release suddenly are part of a 427-1 vote? Heck, the Speaker spent 40+ days and nights refusing to swear in the new AZ Dem Rep, because she would have been the 218th and deciding vote on the discharge petition to bring the matter to a full House vote.

Suddenly...suddenly...everybody decides "What, I was ALWAYS for a full release".

LOL.

A cynic might say "How long would it take Trump's Carnival People Administration to go through 23,000 emails and redact anything that might prove damning?"

Now it goes to the Resolute Desk for Trump to sign. The only question remaining is will Trump stop "some files" from being released because he told Bondi to go after Bill Clinton, and thus it's "an ongoing investigation". (Special for MAGAs: this is why the files were not released during Biden's term, as Epstein was still being investigated, as was the sweetheart deal he got from Trump's future Transportation Secretary.)

First, the issue will not die here. There is a reason why Trump et al delayed delayed delayed, and that may be revealed.

Second, there are outsiders like Michael Wolfe who know stuff, and they will be vocal if what they know to exist (I'll add this for MAGAs..."claim to know what exists") is not part of the release.

In dribs and drabs this issue will not end with the files release.

Let all the chips fall where they may. If it takes Dems down, so be it. If it takes down high profile business leaders, so be it. It is exposes the clandestine operations of a foreign government, so be it.

That popcorn will be pretty stale by the time any of those files will be made public. Trump has ordered an investigation into Epstein relationship with his political enemies like Clinton. There will be no release while there's an ongoing investigation. Another troll by the master.

The consistent comment from members of this forum who are not, foreign or domestic, Trump supporters is ‘Release the files and let the chips fall as they may’.

We are now waiting to see what stunts Trump pulls to prevent the full release.

You will undoubtedly support any such stunts.
