November 21, 2025Nov 21 Popular Post Photo courtesy of Hindustan Times Fátima Bosch of Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2025 at a ceremony in Bangkok on November 21. Competing against 119 contestants, Bosch emerged victorious, narrowly defeating strong competitors from the Philippines, Venezuela, and Thailand. She was awarded the title by last year's winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, becoming the fourth Mexican to achieve this honor. Bosch, wearing a striking red cheongsam-inspired gown, impressed judges despite a turbulent lead-up to the event. The 25-year-old from Santiago de Teapa, Tabasco, faced a public altercation with Thai host director Nawat Itsaragrisil, who criticized her for missing a promotional shoot. This led to Bosch being escorted out, causing a protest from other contestants. The Miss Universe stage saw Thai representative Praveenar Singh as first runner-up and Venezuela's Stephany Abasali as second runner-up. The Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo and Côte d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yace completed the Top 5 lineup. Bosch used her platform to discuss her experiences with dyslexia and ADHD, advocating for neurodiversity. Controversy also arose when jury members Omar Harfouch and Claude Makelele resigned before the finals. Harfouch mentioned "irregularities," while Makelele cited personal reasons for stepping down. Despite the drama, Bosch won admiration for her speech on women’s challenges in 2025, emphasizing using her voice for change. Raúl Rocha Cantú, president of the Miss Universe Organisation, condemned the public confrontation involving Bosch as "humiliation and abuse," promising swift measures. This year's pageant was the fourth held in Thailand, with Puerto Rico set to host the event in 2026, reported The Thaiger. Key Takeaways Fátima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025, marking her as the fourth Mexican winner. The event faced controversy, including the resignations of two jury members and a public dispute involving Bosch. The next Miss Universe pageant will take place in Puerto Rico in 2026. So that went down well. 9 hours ago, snoop1130 said: Controversy also arose when jury members Omar Harfouch and Claude Makelele resigned before the finals. What's the chances someone will get sued or charged with something just to regain some face cause it sure seems face was lost.
November 21, 2025Nov 21 Popular Post So much drama - poor Miss Jamaica who fell off the stage didn't even get a mention.
November 21, 2025Nov 21 Popular Post So, after the events involving her, the controversy about the organiser, and claims that the event was rigged, that very contestant was victorious! Wow! https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/celebrity/resigned-miss-universe-judge-claims-pageant-owner-made-it-clear-official-jurors-were-only-symbolic-in-voting-process/ar-AA1QU7D3
November 21, 2025Nov 21 Popular Post The drama was truly gripping, captivating all of us as we watched with eager anticipation.

What a coincidence that the contestant who was in the news for all the wrong reasons (Thai organiser's outburst), and who received so much support in social media afterwards, won the competition... Well, why shouldn't a beauty pageant be about 'face'... 😆

November 22, 2025Nov 22 Popular Post I can understand the concept of the Miss World competition, even if I find the idea of beauty pageants both pathetic and pointless. However, considering most scientists believe we are likely not alone due to the vastness of the universe, isn’t a bit presumptuous to believe that the most beautiful female in the universe is an Earthling? That would be in line with holding a World Series sporting event and not inviting other countries.

November 22, 2025Nov 22 The fact Ms. Columbia did not make the top 5 tells me the judging was a hoax.
November 22, 2025Nov 22 Popular Post Well I hope Thailand enjoyed their last time holding this competition and probably others due to their own actions and loss of face to the world.
November 22, 2025Nov 22 And that was after getting berated by the goomba Nawat Itsaragrisil, a few weeks ago. I guess she truly does have great composure. He sure doesn't. Though she is attractive I'm not sure if she's Miss Universe caliber.

November 22, 2025Nov 22 Popular Post How absurd that contestants were expected to promote Thailand during the pageant. Even more troubling is that the chief financial beneficiaries of MU2025, Mexico and Thailand, where winner and runner-up, respectively. Two judges that resigned claiming the results were fixed confirm this pageant was an utter disgrace all around. Hats off to Miss Cambodia Neary Socheata (Fiyata), who stole the show with her 10kg gown and other outfits, and copped flak and scathing comments throughout the event.

After the uproar the Thai host caused , calling her a dumb head, or equivalent words, spoilt the whole show by his disgusting behavior. The news and reels of his behavior were shown world wide, even on national news. I don’t particularly like these events , these obviously beautiful ladies do not represent the average beauty in their own countries. That’s just showtime for TV , same as those singing contests etc.

November 22, 2025Nov 22 The international attention it got was pretty bad. Not sure it reflects on Thailand that much - more on the organizer. But the fact a contestant was even able to accidentally walk off the side of the stage and suffer injuries does indeed raise questions about the whole set up. Could that have happened in another country - I guess. The fact the Miss Mexico won the crown, the protaganist or antagonist (depending on your views) from the intial kerfuffel, is just odd. Congrats to her, still...
