Ammonia Leak at Trang Ice Factory Sends Two to Hospital

Two people were hospitalised after an ammonia leak at an ice production factory in Trang city on 23 November 2025, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred at around 10:50 at a facility located in Soi 13, Wisetkul Road, Tambon Thap Thiang, Muang District. Local emergency teams quickly responded and managed to control the situation.

The leak was traced to a damaged tank lid containing ammonia, according to Dr. Rak Booncharoen, Mayor of Trang. Fire and rescue teams from the Trang Municipality’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation were dispatched immediately after the alarm. Residents in the nearby area were warned to avoid the affected site during the incident.

As a result of inhaling ammonia, two individuals experienced respiratory irritation and were promptly transported to Trang Hospital. Their conditions are now stable and no further health risks have been reported. Authorities confirmed that the leak has been contained and there has been no additional ammonia release.

Matichon reported that officials continued to monitor the surrounding area throughout the day, to ensure safety and further inspections were conducted to prevent recurrence.
