Very Odd! All Downloads (movies) Stop At Exactly 141.857 Kb!

Featured Replies

Being really fed up with the 1000/512 ADSL connection that I have recently acquired from TOT (average download speeds of about 20kbps!!) I tried a tweak using FTP Optimizer.

It used to take forever to download a movie from the Net - but now everything just comes to a halt after 141,857kb!

I'm downloading series from www.tv-links.co.uk. They appear as streaming DivX moves that can then be saved, and as they stream, they are written sequentally to my hard drive.

The download stops after 141etc kb and the router sits there with all lights on, not blinking. Any further Internet access is not possible. Resetting the router gives the same result. BUT if I reboot the computer, then I have Internet access again.

Any ideas from people who KNOW what the settings SHOULD be in FTP Optimizer? (I've checked it through on the FTP Optimizer website and set-up as per their instructions.)

Or could it be some sort of cache-full problem?

Help!
