Ukraine Slams Putin After US-Russia Talks Hit a Dead End

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has accused Vladimir Putin of "wasting the world's time", following ineffective high-stakes negotiations in Moscow between the US and Russia regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The talks, involving US officials including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, failed to yield significant progress towards peace. Sybiha stressed the necessity of ending Russian aggression, warning of consequences if Putin continues to dismiss international concerns.

In spite of the stalemate, the US delegation described the discussions as having "positive significance for the peace process" and extended an invitation for further negotiations with Ukrainian officials in the United States. The US-Russia talks came after several days of meetings with Ukrainian and European leaders, who were apprehensive about a potential deal favourable to Russian demands.
