Reread your history; England was not even close to being ‘one of the’ when you factor in the antics of the Belgians or Spanish. I am willing to bet any amount of money that you will NEVER see sharia law as the main legal basis in the UK EVER! It is of course complete scaremongering propagated by the far-right, racists and the Islamophobia brigade who seem to be disproportionately represented on this forum (Jonny F will be along soon to prove my point). And the UK isn't particularly a 'woke country' (whatever that means) unless you are using the phrase in its true meaning of 'being alert to racial prejudice and social injustice' - something ALL countries should be.

 

 

If current trends continue the UK will be under Sharia law within a decade. I was just in London, which I enjoyed but the demographic shifts are evident. Muslims tend to out reproduce everyone else and that is already occuring in the UK.

Not quite.  I used to live in Slough (I'd almost erased that trauma you git!! 🤣)

 

It was pretty 'brown' when I lived there (37 years ago!).  I thought I'd look to see what the demographics are now - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Slough

 

Not 100% clear on religion, but I'll assume Pakistani and Bangladeshi = muslim.  22.3% of the population.  Another 19% "Indian", I reckon that'll mostly be Sikh.  The minority is 'white'.  Not exactly a mix that'll lead to Sharia Law as I reckon most of the muslims wouldn't want that.

 

As always, wouldn't want facts to get in the way of good story though.

Good post.  A lot people just mean "black/brown" when referring to muslims.  It's just basic racism which is the raison d'etre for Reform and the hard-right.

Yes - eventually some districts within what was once the United Kingdom, will fracture into Islamic no-go zones as they have in Sweden, and within those zones UK politicians will jettison the current parliamentary sovereignty constrained by the principles of Magna Carta (1215), common law tradition, judicial independence, and constitutional conventions, and will instead allow Sharia Law to be the law of the land in what soon will be The Fractured Kingdom.

This is assuming linear population growth. I suspect within the next 2 years a critical mass of muslim people and government officals will trigger white flight, creating a seisimic population shift in advance of the quoted timeline. Also when I say muslims I am including African and Middle Eastern people who were wearing traditionally muslim attire and dining in the ubiquitous restaurants with Halal offerings to arrive at my conclusion. The increase of Mosques is another leading indicator.
