A woman in Chumphon was arrested alongside four others while using methamphetamine in the presence of her young child. The arrest occurred in the Tha Sae district when police conducted a raid after a tip-off from a concerned resident. They found the group of five adults using meth, with a five-year-old child sitting quietly nearby.

This situation arose as the 30-year-old mother, who had been involved in drug dealings, admitted to ordering large quantities of meth from a dealer named Daeng. Her involvement in drug activities began years ago after her ex-husband left her pregnant, prompting her to rely on drug sales for survival. Residing with a new partner and leaving her son with her 15-year-old niece, she continued this lifestyle, compensating the niece with meth pills and money.

During these visits, meth use involved her new husband, niece, niece’s boyfriend, and former husband. Her cooperation with the police enabled them to arrest three additional suspects and seize 123 meth pills. All adult suspects now face charges related to methamphetamine use and possession, while the niece is headed for a drug rehabilitation program.

Authorities attempted to place the woman's son into protective custody, but she objected, wishing to keep him with her in prison. Her request was denied, and the child was entrusted to his grandfather, with ongoing monitoring by welfare officers, reported The Thaiger.
