Trump Defies Doctors On Aspirin Dose: ‘I Want Thin Blood’

Trump Desk.jpg

President Donald Trump says he is ignoring medical advice to reduce his daily aspirin dosage — insisting he prefers “nice, thin blood” and has taken the higher-dose pill for more than two decades.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump, 79, said doctors have urged him to switch from a 325 mg daily aspirin to the lower ~80 mg dose typically used for cardiac prevention. He refuses — partly out of habit and, he admits, “a little superstition.”

“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart,” Trump said. “I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”

Trump, the oldest person ever sworn in as president, maintains that his health is “perfect,” despite recent scrutiny after visible bruising on his hand — which the White House attributes to aspirin use. His physician, Sean Barbabella, confirmed doctors recommended lowering the dose.

Trump also clarified that during his October visit to Walter Reed, he received a CT scan, not an MRI as previously reported. “Nothing’s wrong,” he insisted — adding that the test itself sparked unnecessary speculation.

The White House continues to insist the president is in excellent health — even as Trump is known for preferring fast food and rejecting structured exercise. “To walk on a treadmill for hours… that’s not for me,” he said, calling exercise “boring,” with golf his main physical activity.

Trump also brushed off claims that he has been seen dozing off at official events, saying cameras simply catch him blinking or briefly closing his eyes to relax.

The president shows no sign of backing down on his aspirin routine — even as doctors warn the larger dose raises the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Key Takeaways

  • Higher-risk dose: Trump refuses to drop from 325 mg to low-dose aspirin, despite doctor advice.

  • Bruising explained: White House says aspirin use caused hand bruises seen in photos.

  • Health insistence continues: Trump repeats that his health is “perfect” and shrugs off lifestyle criticism.

Washed down with a bottle of bleach and a roasted dog Mr. President🤔

Dr Don knows best, as he is so highly intelligent and so highly educated and so widely knowledgeable - increase dosage a few hundred times should help.

Er let me think for a nano second, NO, nothing he says makes sense......coffee1

The question here is why he needs thin blood to circulate through his heart, when the man simply does not possess a heart, so what good would it do to make his blood thinner?

And besides why would he need the advice of medical experts when he knows everything already, and he's the smartest man in the world?

One can just look at him and see that he's in very poor health.
