A mother in Rayong province, Thailand, is advocating for legal action after her 15-year-old daughter was drugged and raped in 2024. Despite filing a complaint with the police in July 2024, there has been no progress, and the suspect remains at large, threatening the victim and her family. The mother met with Rayong Provincial Police commander, Pramote Ngampradit, seeking an expedited investigation.

The incident unfolded when the perpetrator allegedly tricked the girl into consuming drug-laced water before assaulting her. He warned her against reporting the crime, but the victim confided in her mother, who promptly filed a police report at Pluak Daeng Police Station. The suspect, alongside his wife and mother-in-law, reportedly harassed the victim and her mother at their home.

The victim underwent a medical examination for evidence, but has received no updates on the investigation from the police. The medical results were supposed to be transferred to the authorities, yet the family remains in the dark about any developments. Pramote has now promised a comprehensive investigation and has pledged to push the Pluak Daeng police for prompt action.

In a related case, police arrested a man in Udon Thani for allegedly raping seven young girls. The man, who is reportedly HIV-positive, denied the charges, as victims expressed concern over potential disease transmission. The police are yet to confirm his HIV status.

Pramote’s commitment hints at possible progress in the Rayong case, although details remain pending. Authorities are under pressure to act swiftly, ensuring justice for the victim and the safety of her family. Community advocates and human rights groups continue to monitor the situation closely, reported The Thaiger.
