Yep. I just saw your Secretary of Agriculture saying "the simulations" are proving that you can get a hearty meal consisting of a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, a corn tortilla and "one other thing" for $3!

Yep. Your picture is childishly misleading but let me help you:

Chicken is $1.49 per 500 grams, that means 250 grams for .75.

Broccoli at $.99 per 500 grams, that means 250 grams for .75

Tortillas $.99 for 10, that means 5 are .50.

Leaving enough for a Twinky or two if you want them. Id get a whole pineapple for .99 myself.

Better than probably 50 percent of the world eats a day. Check your local sale flyers.

Guess hes right and you are wrong. Let me know if you need more help in feeding yourself healthy food in a portion controlled manner.

The annual inflation was 2.9% in 2024 and is now 2.7% (if not revised later). 🤣

Food inflation increased despite Trump's promise.

Making it insulting shows you have nothing.

It’s interesting to see both sides of the economic picture being discussed, because people’s daily experiences don’t always match broad headlines. Some sectors really have seen growth, but rising prices, especially for everyday goods, are a real concern for many families right now. I think it’s important to look at both the big trends and the on‑the‑ground impact before drawing firm conclusions. How are you feeling the economy is affecting your own budget lately?

And you think the US is on the boil.

https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/353754/woolworths-rspca-approved-chicken-breast-diced

$9AUD for 500g of diced chicken. That around $6USD.

You are getting a bargain at $1.49USD.

If you are unhappy with that, best to invade another country and steal their chicken farms. 🤣

Tortilla, broccoli, a piece of chicken and something for $3 said the Agriculture Secretary. Trump and his team is living in their own bubble and insulting the regular working people.

"Let them eat Broccoli," says the Don, as the rest of the world savors his TACO's.

As the owner of a business in America I can say that his economic policies absolutely stink and the micro economy or should I say the local economies within the US are in big trouble.

Consumer confidence is a huge factor when it comes to retail, and I've never witnessed consumer confidence lower than it is right now in America. Way too much uncertainty from the chief clown.

Public opinion on nearly every aspect of President Donald Trump’s first year back in the White House is negative, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS finds, with a majority of Americans saying Trump is focused on the wrong priorities and doing too little to address cost of living.

A majority, 58%, calls the first year of Trump’s term a failure.

There’s hardly any good news in the poll for Trump or the Republican Party entering a critical midterm year, with the president’s handling of the economy looming as the defining issue in key House and Senate races.

Asked to choose the country’s top issue, Americans pick the economy by a nearly two-to-one margin over any other topic. The poll suggests Trump is struggling to prove that he’s addressing it. And it finds broad concerns over Trump’s use of presidential power and his efforts to put his stamp on American culture.

Trump’s overall job approval rating now stands at 39%, with public opinion on nearly every aspect of his presidency stagnating in the negative. His ratings, which held around 48% last February, declined within the first 100 days of his second term, and have since remained in the low 40s or high 30s.

Bet you're in California,

California is suffering, as are small businesses and consumers in NY, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix, Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Boise, Dallas, New Orleans, and the entire farm belt. Things are really, really bad back there.

That is very correct. I have conservative American friends here who haven't been back to the US in a decade, but they claim that things are booming back there, because they keep reading the headlines which refer to the macroeconomy and they believe the multi billionaire goon.

It has very little to do with the average American consumer, and does not address the difficulties they are facing with raging inflation, out of control prices, and a tough job market.

A friend of mine divides this time between Monte Carlo and London, and was recently in Los Angeles and New York for business, and he said both cities are considerably more expensive than those two European locations that he spends most of his time in. It's hard to believe but that's the reality in America right now, it's a very, very broken place, and the quality of life is incredibly low for at least 70% of the population.

If there's one thing you can count on it's that real inflation is infinitely higher than the fake numbers that they're constantly publishing, as very few people consume magnesium ore and sheet aluminum, and other silly commodities that they use for the index to deliberately keep the numbers low.

I go back to America a few times a year, and prices are going up dramatically, and real consumer inflation is likely between 10 and 20% annually. And the job market is in a terrible condition too. America is truly on the brink of disaster, and it's at least partly due to the incredibly dim and incredibly large occupant of the White House.

Oil refineries closing doors, crime is a big reason for chain businesses are shutting down, homelessness is a big money makers for the involved originations. A big majority of blame for Calif. is Newsome. All these things combined is part of the downfall. It turned my Calif neighborhood of quiet streets in a farming community into gangs roaming the streets.

I agree Newsom is part of the problem, and I agree that California is in bad shape, but that applies to a significant portion of America, the farmers are suffering, the average American is suffering, and the Goon is not making things one iota better for anyone except the wealthy and huge corporations.
