Amphur Marriage Appointment Wait

Featured Replies

Last week I went to the Amphur (in the big city up north) with all the required papers to try and book an appointment to get married with my Thai gf. Everything was in order and accepted, but after about 30 minutes talking with my fiancée, the staff said the next available slot is in May!

By then, our documents will have expired (they're valid for 3 months), so I'd have to go back to Bangkok to get new ones and start all over again.

However, the employee suggested calling this agency (phone number provided), they can apparently arrange an appointment for us within the current 3-month validity period.

Has anyone dealt with this? Is using an agency like this recommended, or should I try a different Amphur instead?

Thanks for any advice!
