Full List: Nations Bringing Back Conscription As WW3 Fears Mount

Guess you don't remember the 60s. Was it the acid? The US still has conscription, though it would be completely ineffective today. The draft machinery is rustier than Venezuela's oil fields. The real problem for young men is that, by law, they still have to register (I refused to register in 1968). Though it is not yet universal, some states tie draft registration to eligibility for drivers' licenses, education loans, mortgages and govt jobs.

We are obviously from different countries. Who mentioned acid? I was referring to their behaviour. And yes I remember the 60s well as a teenager.

  • To be fair, I think we should have in the US, but first everyone must register their political affiliation. If the person you vote for decides to invade, say, Greenland, you get called up to go fight.

  • What impeachable offenses has he committed? What criminal offenses has he committed?

With a severely unstable Trump in the White House, and supported by an equally delusional administration, what sane country would not be preparing for a potential US attack/invasion?

well he seems to not really care about his oath to defend the US Constitution and the rights of ALL citizens of the US. International laws seem to be ignored also IMHO.

Tell us how he has violated the Constitution and the rights of ALL citizens. Surely you have a Supreme Court case to prove it?

Tell us since when an an actually unconstitutional executive order has been deemed an impeachable offense?

Tell us how violation of international law is an impeachable offense.

I'd be curious to look at a worldwide survey and see who the average world citizen is more afraid of at this point in time. Putin, Xi or Trump?

My guess it would be Trump, since he has shown himself to be a War President, a warmonger, unafraid to break the law, and unafraid to act without congressional approval. He just might be the most dangerous man on the planet at the moment. He is very scary and highly unstable, semi senile and the least partially insane. And it's very likely Miller and Vance are number two and three.

Congressman Adam Smith of the armed services committee expressed his fears that there may be more to come after the Venezuela invasion as Trump and his sycophants implement their strategy to dominate the western hemisphere, the so-called Donroe Doctrine.

American author Chris Hedges writes: “Violence does not generate peace. It generates violence. “If there is one lesson we should have learned in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, it is that regime change spawns Frankensteinian monsters of our own making.”

Respected academic Professor

Jeffrey Sachs says said Trump, with his unlawful actions, has positioned the US as a “global thug”. So who is going to stop the global thug?

Russia is knee-deep in its invasion of Ukraine. Does it hold any moral authority to admonish Trump over Venezuela?

China is champing at the bit itching to take Taiwan by force. India is just about one incident away from formally declaring war against eternal enemy Pakistan. What about the multi-lateral structures?

The bad news is that almighty Trump is thumbing his nose at all of them.

Trump promised to end American adventures overseas, and reel in the involvement in more overseas conflicts, yet in the past year it would appear he has done the exact opposite of that. Does this mean he's abandoning his base and is betraying the ideals of MAGA?

Back on topic ....... Ww3

It appears to be a repeat of ww2 on the cards,

A united Europe under German rule attempts to take on the USA plus Russia ........ Again.

The only doubt being which side Britain is on.

If you have been following the news since ICE has been rounding up "illegal", you would have seen the court injunction halting one of the planes on the runway enroute to central America and subsequent congressional hearings on this very subject, quoting from congress woman Crokette from Texas - she quote the 2nd para of the US constituion which guarantees the right of due process for ANYONE within the US whether or not they are legal or not. Also declaring war on Venezuela druggies and attacking the capital there without congressional approval. There are others but you Yagoda must be a magaite so ignore these lies by Trump.

Use of the term Magaite demonstrates that you have no facts or law or anything to support your rant.

No matter what you still can't ignore the facts that he is ignoring the US Constitution even after taking the oath to support it twice.

UK military has a serious shortage in the trades and of pilots. It takes time to train a proper pilot, aircraft mechanic, ship engineer, electrician etc. The pay scale and living arrangements didn't help retain these skilled people.

Well now: you train up a man or woman for a skilled trade, make them live in a four man room (with a "kitchenette" but don't allow them to have a microwave and a kettle!), pay them 50% of what they could earn as civilians and allow him/her the privilege of stagging on (guard) one weekend a month. Surround him/her with bul<deleted>, throw in a pinch of bullying and sexual harrassment and then are concerned that they don't want to stay in the armed forces!

Dancer, mentioned acid because that was the hallmark of the 60s.

Presnock, Yagoda tells us he is not MAGA and I see no reason to disbelieve him. Perhaps he is the new American who has no regard for rule of law interfering with 'government efficiency'.

Due process and habeas corpus are hallmarks of American jurisprudence. It's what separates us from other dictatorship. If those are gone, so is the rule of law.

How has Trump violated the Constitution? By sending troops into American cities for policing actions, not their function of disaster and humanitarian relief, quite the opposite. Trump is not alone. The last few Presidents have also ignored the Constitution by waging undeclared war but never before war solely on civilians.

Take a breath and retreat to ease the political tension. When the situation calms, return to negotiation in good faith, trusting the party opposite.

If the absence of that, a few nukes and the end of all of us. Untold suffering, but not unwarranted.

I think that you will find that militaries have changed in the past decade. They have cracked down on the harassment. Pay and benefits have been improved. And the sad reality is that what is encountered in the military is similar to most workplaces. Learning how to deal with bullies and procedural abusers is a survival skill. One cannot hide forever and run away from bullies if one is to succeed in life.

rost. tariffs are supposed to be done by the Congress - part of the separation of powers stated in the Constitution, also states clearly that all on US soil are guaranteed due process before kicked out, suggest you read the constitution before believing and spreading the lies from the Trump supporters.
