Trump's 'Board of Peace' Expands with Global Participation!

  • Popular Post

In a strategic move, seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt, have joined US President Donald Trump's "Board of Peace," designed initially to oversee the Gaza ceasefire. While the board's original intent focused on Gaza's reconstruction, its broader charter suggests it could assume roles typically reserved for the United Nations.

Saudi Arabia and other Muslim-majority countries have endorsed the initiative, emphasizing consolidation of the ceasefire in Gaza and supporting reconstruction efforts. This aligns with the board's aim to advance a "just and lasting peace" in the region.

Israel confirmed its participation early on, and Trump's comments suggest that Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering joining. However, the Kremlin has not yet officially committed, stating that the invitation remains under review. Putin has suggested that Russia could potentially contribute $1 billion from frozen assets, viewing the board primarily as pertinent to Middle Eastern issues.

The initiative extends invitations globally, with Canada, the UK, and several other nations deliberating over their role. The UAE, Bahrain, and several others have already committed to the board, reflecting its rapidly growing influence.

Amid the enthusiasm, Slovenia's Prime Minister Robert Golob has declined the invitation, criticizing it as interfering with the international order. The Vatican has also received an invitation, with Cardinal Pietro Parolin indicating that Pope Leo will need time to decide.

According to a leaked document, the board’s charter will become effective once three member states formally agree, with terms renewable every three years. Those contributing $1 billion gain permanent seats, suggesting a high economic threshold for ongoing influence. The board, branded as an international peace-building organization, grants Trump significant powers as its chair and US representative.

Last week, the White House announced the seven founding Executive Board members, including figures like US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Tony Blair. The board is tasked with pivotal roles in Gaza, authorized by a UN Security Council resolution extending through 2027.

Tensions persist, as Netanyahu’s office expressed unease about the board's Gaza Executive composition, particularly with members like Turkey and Qatar, despite their role in brokering the ceasefire. The plan for peace in Gaza involves two phases: the current fragile ceasefire and future reconstruction. However, challenges loom as Hamas has not fully agreed to demilitarization without statehood assurances, and Israel is cautious about further withdrawals from Gaza.

The fragile ceasefire remains, with over 460 Palestinians and three Israeli soldiers reported killed since its inception. The broader conflict, ignited by a Hamas attack in October 2023, has resulted in substantial casualties, underscoring the situation's volatility and the board's complex diplomatic mandate.

Through this initiative, the Trump administration seeks to assert US influence in global conflict resolution, potentially challenging the established role of international entities like the UN. As the board expands, its capacity to effectively navigate geopolitical tensions and foster peace remains a focal point of global interest.

Key Takeaways

  • New countries join Trump's Board of Peace, heightening its international profile.

  • The board’s expanded mission may redefine traditional roles in global diplomacy.

  • Gaza tensions highlight the board's challenging path to enduring peace.

The man who has bombed or invaded more countries in 12 months than any president in history now claims to be a president of peace, the irony is mind boggling.

Let’s be clear on this. The Security Council resolution approved the Board of Peace for Gaza and included establishing a security force in Gaza. Trump has hijacked this resolution and has no legal right to broaden the mandate for his fantasy creation of a new international organization. With most democratic countries not participating, I am anticipating TACO of another crazy Trump’s foreign policy wet dream.

The con is only taking 1 billion each from countries that are stupid enough to give it to him. There is no way one of them will receive a cent back. One of the cons best scams yet.

Putin a member of the “Board of Peace”?? A contradiction to rank with anything in George Orwell’s 1984.

A perfect example of an oxymoron!

Just crazy. The world is in trouble.

Trump will soon rename it the Board of War.

He's just withdrawn Mr Carney's invite. Seems he isn't 'peaceful' enough?

"You can't talk about international co-operation and getting along with each other in here, this is the Board of Peace!"

See. Genocide and War Crimes do have a political, social and commercial purpose.

Don't you mean;

"it's a beautiful board, the biggest most beautiful board in the world. A great beautiful board that only I can produce and as such is an object that is revered around the world and that every leader in the world praises me for"!

PS; Abridged version as the original is too large to be posted on AN"

Mike, additional sad observation that the trump/Project 2025 goal of having the deathly elite rule ... USA, sure, but globally. The irony here is that a bit behind the curtain they already do rule.

Gaza ‘master plan’

A large part of the ceremony was devoted to talking about its plans for shattered Gaza.

Gaza’s newly appointed administrator said in a video message that the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip would reopen in both directions next week.

Then Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, like the President a former property developer, showed slides of what he billed as a “master plan” for Gaza’s reconstruction.

They included maps of new settlements and artist renderings of gleaming seafront hotels and apartments under the caption “New Gaza”.

“It could be a hope. It could be a destination,” Kushner said.

Or it could be another "grift" from trump and co to boost the coffers of him, Kushner and wealthy friends......and this could be the huge moneymaker he always looked for and he mentioned it before re. the rebuilding of Gaza.

Not Canada according to Trump.

I missed the slide that showed where the 1.7Million displaced (ex) Gazan's will be housed!

Clearly a misprint. They mean Bored of Peace...

Putin just accepted the lifelong membership! Kremlin confirms. He is a true man of peace, ain't he!

But the payment must be taken from the frozen Russian account in the US, they added.

Absolutely hilarious 😂

Board of peace = another trump shakedown. Each country must pay a billion dollars for a permanent seat, in cash, and paid directly to him. It’s amazing some countries have signed up but when you look at the list you realise it’s an effort to curry favour and power with the demented nut job, nothing else. He isn’t intelligent enough to negotiate jack <deleted> as demonstrated on the world’s stage regularly and most recently in Davos. He rambled about talking to Macron about drug prices, a conversation that never happened. One thing he did learn was the Europeans aren’t intimidated by his lies, racist bullying delusional rhetoric and aren’t afraid like those pathetic politicians in America who fail miserably to stand up to the loser. His board of peace will fail, just like all his other scams. He’s biggest shyster on the planet nothing else and the sooner he’s gone the better.

Nope, Putin hasn't joined and neither has Xi.

The only ones that have joined are third world and Muslim countries.

Yes I see that post, but what are the chances that this will happen?

Maybe slim to none I would say, for now. But these funds will eventually end up being released, but maybe not before a peace deal. Trump has too much respect for Putin otherwise. They will figure out this payment in the meantime.

I see it as a start to a negotiation. It's a way to put the pressure on for this release, but at the same time, it is an acceptance of his board. One way or another, they will have Russia there.

It's a freakhouse of members, if you ask me.

So what if it's legit and Trump is truly trying to move towards peace in the middle east?

And the countries that are not joining are countries that want the war in the middle east to continue?

"Board of Peace" looks more like a global neo-Nazi-Fascist organization.

Par for the course… coffee1
