Nearly 100 delivery riders gathered outside Pathumwan Police Station on 25 January 2026 in response to an assault on a female delivery rider by two security guards in central Bangkok. The incident occurred on 24 January at the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, where the rider, Ms. Supphannika, and her partner, Mr. Nattawut, were delivering food. Ms. Supphannika was allegedly struck with a helmet and kicked by one guard, leading to loss of consciousness and injuries.

The confrontation began when the couple attempted to enter the premises and were instructed to leave their motorcycle outside, sparking an argument with the guards. As tensions escalated, Mr. Nattawut was also assaulted while trying to aid Ms. Supphannika. Both were assisted by bystanders and transported to Police Hospital, where Ms. Supphannika was treated for jaw inflammation, and Mr. Nattawut received treatment for minor injuries.

Following the incident, images and videos circulated online, prompting delivery riders to convene outside the police station as the guards were processed. Pol Col Rangsan Sonsing and Pol Maj Gen Chaikrit Pho-a oversaw the situation to ensure crowd control. The suspects, charged with jointly assaulting another person causing injury, are set to appear in court on 26 January.

Looking ahead, the focus remains on the court proceedings and ensuring safety for delivery riders. The incident has sparked discussions on treatment and safety for delivery personnel in the city. Authorities are under pressure to address these concerns and prevent similar occurrences in the future, reported The Thaiger.
