The Crime Suppression Police have arrested a 31-year-old man at a condominium in the Rama 2 area of Bangkok in connection with multiple fraud cases involving overseas employment and Japan tour packages. The suspect was detained on 7 February 2026 and is wanted under seven arrest warrants issued by courts in several provinces.

Police identified the suspect as Mr Jatupol, also known as Thitapha, who was arrested in the car park of a condominium on Suksawat–Rama 2 Road in Bang Mod, Chom Thong district. Authorities said he confessed to all charges during initial questioning and was transferred to Wang Thonglang Police Station for further legal proceedings.

The arrest followed complaints received by the Amnat Charoen Provincial Employment Office from victims who said they were deceived into believing the suspect could arrange jobs in Japan and South Korea. Victims reported being offered factory, agricultural and other positions, with fees of 100,000 baht per person and were asked to pay a 50,000 baht deposit in advance.

Investigations found that the promised overseas employment never materialised. Checks with the Department of Employment confirmed that Mr Jatupol was not licensed to recruit workers for overseas jobs and was not employed by, or acting as an agent for, any authorised recruitment company.

Police also said several other victims were defrauded through Facebook, where the suspect publicly advertised tour packages in Thailand and abroad, airline ticket reservations and visa services. In one case, victims paid 40,000 baht for a Japan tour and a further 60,000 baht as part of arrangements to work overseas.

According to investigators, the suspect arranged meetings with victims at a hotel in the Bang Kapi area and conducted what appeared to be English language training sessions. He scheduled a departure date of 22 March 2023, but on the day of travel the airline refused boarding, stating that while a booking existed, no payment had been made.

When questioned by victims, the suspect allegedly claimed other tour members were not ready and requested a postponement, while refusing to refund the money. Victims subsequently filed police complaints, leading to multiple arrest warrants being issued, including for fraud, public fraud and entering false information into a computer system.

Thaitabloid reported that police said they were able to track the suspect to the Rama 2 area before carrying out the arrest. He has now been handed over to investigators to face prosecution under all outstanding warrants.
