I'll be in Phuket next month and want to stay with my gf in a nice (romantic) hotel...

Places like the The Chedi, Marriot, Kata Thani etc are affordable in low season...

Which one of these hotels or any other's do members suggest???

(Budget up to about 7000 a night for a week) But cheaper is good too! :D

Thanks in advance. :D

EDIT:

That was my 666th post :D

Hope that wasn't an Omen :o (sorry)

Just to add, my gf has never really been to an "upmarket" hotel before...

She used to work in an insurance office for the princely sum of 15,000 a month :o

I'm a bit worried she might be overawed by some of these hotels...I want to take her somewhere really nice but not make her feel uncomfortable or like a "fish out of water".

Thanks again.

IMHO the Chedi would be by far the best & most remantic of your list.

Have a good time...

Depends on so many factors;

Do you want to just stay in the hotel or travel around?

Do you want good food or is that unimportant?

The Chedi has a lot of hill climbing and is remote.

Twin Palms, nearby is sleek and sophisticated, but quite a walk to the sea.

The Marriott is even more remote but the rooms are nice and the pool enormous.

When we were there some years ago The Kata Thani was too impersonal, too big,and not a good swimming beach.

The best ,arguably, beach on Phuket is Kata so try The Aspasia, super rooms and views and walk to Kata Beach, (Warning, some building work in progress so be sure to get a room farthest away from the noise.

OR for pure exclusive romance and the best food <Arguably!, on Phuket ,you have to try the Boathouse. Good prices can be bargained now. and it's position is unrivalled.
