Thai authorities apprehended three Chinese nationals on February 11, following their illegal entry into Thailand from Cambodia. The incident took place in the Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo province, as the men attempted to find business opportunities in Bangkok. They were intercepted by Thai rangers during intensified patrols along the border.

The Burapha Task Force reported that the arrests occurred around 6:30 pm near a sugarcane field, just 120 meters from the Thai-Cambodian border. Ranger Company 1204 was conducting routine patrols to prevent illegal activities when they caught the individuals.

The arrested men explained they had traveled from Cambodia, where they ran a medium-sized retail business. Their goal was to establish a new shop in Bangkok, with one member planning a return to China. They reportedly paid 5,000 yuan (approx. 22,560 baht) each to Cambodian facilitators to enter Thailand. No smuggler was present during their apprehension.

The rangers escorted the men to the command unit for further questioning in conjunction with Sa Kaeo Immigration officials. The detainees were later turned over to Khlong Nam Sai Police Station for legal proceedings under Thai law. Enhanced patrols continue along the border to deter further illegal crossings, reported The Thaiger.
