They motivated people to convert by allowing and adapting parts of their religion into Christianity:

What are the Palestinians in the West Bank are supposed to do?

They did not start a war but Israel keeps stealing their land while the whole world watches and as usual does nothing.

If they resist, you´d say "Oh, look, look, those terrorists don´t want peace".
