I assume you are a Tankie, and blithely dismiss this list as Western Running Dogs. The litany of death and violence widely attributed to Hezbollah includes the 1983 murder in Beirut of 241 American and 58 French peacekeepers; the 1986 wave of bombings against Jewish communal targets in Paris, in which 13 people died; the 1992 attack on the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, in which 29 people died; the 1994 bombing of the Argentine-Jewish mutual association, which led to the deaths of 85 people; the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in which 19 US servicemen lost their lives and nearly 500 people were injured; and the 2012 attack on a bus of Israeli tourists in the Bulgarian resort of Burgas, in which six people were murdered.

And it all becomes somewhat moot now that Lebanon has declared Hezbollah's actions illegal.

As reported by Al Jazeera, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said all Hezbollah military activities are “illegal” and called upon the security forces to “prevent any attacks originating from Lebanese territory”. “We declare our commitment to the cessation of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations,” he added.

Let's see how the resident supporter of terrorists justifies a violent group disobeying a legitimate civil government and acting as its own state subject only to the dictates of Iran.

Iran is striking a lot of targets. It's giving a great account of itself. Interceptor missiles are running out, so expect more success!

Not only was this to be expected by people with reasonable intellectual capacity, but there is a possibility this could go on for many years, and there is a possibility that there could be attacks on the US mainland.

The claim that the U.S. or Israel deliberately targeted the headquarters of the Iranian Red Crescent Society and nearby hospitals is misleading. The headlines and "X" post are based on a report from the Turkish Anadolu Agency. That report does NOT say the headquarters/hospitals were attacked, but that bombs fell near them.

Iran reports US-Israeli attacks on areas near hospitals in Tehran

No information was yet available about casualties or damage

The Iranian Red Crescent reported US and Israeli attacks on areas close to medical and humanitarian facilities in the capital Tehran on Sunday.

The organization said the attacks struck areas near the Red Crescent Building, Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital, Behzisti facilities, and Motahari Hospital in the capital.

I could not find any follow-up to this brief report.

Sorry, I can't take anything you say seriously. Israel can do no wrong when it's bloody obvious they are breaking all rules, legally and morally, and don't give a fk what anyone thinks.

Even your govt minister says fk you international war protocol. You probably support what this idiot says? Tell me of you don't.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Monday dismissed concerns about adhering to the rules of engagement in the U.S. and Israeli military conflict against Iran, drawing criticism from legal experts, veterans and political opponents.

The USA deserve attacks on their mainland because of their illegal attack on a peaceful, sovereign country.

However much the U.S. and Israel disregard international protocol, the headquarters of the Iranian Red Crescent Society and various hospitals weren't targeted in aerial attacks. The Turkish and Iranian reports didn't accuse the U.S./Israel of doing so. It only said bombs had fallen NEAR those buildings.

Well at least we agree Israel is breaking international law or protocol.

It's very interesting to see the number of people still supporting Israel and the fundamentalist religious Genocidal nutcase in the Knesset.

If you look back on this forum a couple of years there were many people totally supporting Israel's response to Oct 7. Now they are too embarrassed to show their avatar, and rightly so.

Only a few Israelis, US Jews, and a couple of nutters who hate Muslims are here now trying to defend the most aggressive nation on Earth, who are currently using the illegal attack on Iran to bomb Lebanon, Iraq and continue their genocide in Gaza.

You're on the wrong side of history and in time you'll change your mind.

They don't need ships to close a 25 mile wide waterway. Loads of tanker traffic parked up in the Arabian Sea, waiting to get though. The IRIN has about 100 surface vessals (plus the Kilo subs), plus the IRGC naval units. The Americans are claiming about a dozen ships sunk

India voted against a UN resolution in January 2026 condemming Iranian repression of protestors. Intentional or not, Patel's actions helped Iran and hurt US efforts to protect the US Homeland.

From what I have seen so far, drones are cheaper and more effective at controlling the waterway than naval vessels. A squadron of ships is not necessary.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/iran-strike-kuwait-officials-question-fortifications/

Shades of Benghazi

The first American service members to die in the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran were killed in an apparent Iranian drone attack on a makeshift office space in Kuwait, three U.S. military officials with direct knowledge of Iran's attack told CBS News.

.......three U.S. military officials questioned the assertion that the building was adequately fortified. They told CBS News the operations center was a triple-wide trailer made into an office space — a common setup at U.S. bases abroad.

The trailer's only fortifications were T-walls, which are steel-reinforced concrete barriers that can range in height from 6 to 12 feet tall, used to protect military personnel from explosions, rocket attacks and shrapnel, the military officials said.

But T-walls could not protect the facility from an overhead strike. Two officials told CBS News that the strike appeared to hit dead-center on top of the building.

.....prior to the attack, there were discussions on the ground about whether the tactical operations center in question should not have been used, as it concentrated too many U.S. troops in a location that wasn't defendable.

Ukraine basically doesn't have a Navy and look what its done to the pride of the Russian navy, the Black Sea Fleet, often with kit that looks like a bigger version of whats seen on a Park pond on a sunday afternoon.

The Straits of Hormuz are basically closed when shipping stops passing through it. Which is what's happened. It doesn't matter what the Americans say, here Lloyd's Register holds sway.

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. After all the bluster, Trump is finally admitting it.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005. The organization's mission is to promote the separation of church and state within the military.

Its recently been the recipient of complaints that Radical and Apocalyptic Christianity has taken root among the core leadership in the US military, which could be compared to the radical Islamism practiced by IRG cadre. Its this fervour that seems to inspiring US troops in the fight against Iran. They see it as fulfilling a prophecy of a great battle that precedes the return of Jesus who will battle the Anti-Christ, followed by the Rapture, that will only return Evangelists to Heaven, everyone else left behind. Combine that with Secretary of Defense Hegseth's statement that there will be no Rules of Engagement (which is code for No Quarter Given), and his open embrace of radical Christian body art, suggests the potential for intolerable acts of violence.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/03/us-israel-iran-war-christian-rhetoric

I quote:

One complainant, identified as a noncommissioned officer (NCO) in a unit that could be deployed “at any moment to join” operations against Iran, told MRFF in a complaint viewed by the Guardian that their commander had “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ”.

This is widely reported by other publications

https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/us-troops-told-iran-war-anointed-jesus-bring-armageddon-watchdog-says

https://baptistnews.com/article/us-military-personnel-object-to-armageddon-talk/

The apparent apocalyptic pep talk, essentially promising the troops death (that is what Armageddon means), should be contrasted in previous modern was, where senior officers have invoked their faith and morals to inspire their men. For instance in 2003, Col. Tim Collins of the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Regiment gave a notable speech that has gone down in history (and re-enacted by Kenneth Branagh), the transcript of which is recorded here, and which I reproduce for convenience:

https://www.dajobe.org/2003/03/collins/

We go to liberate, not to conquer.

We will not fly our flags in their country

We are entering Iraq to free a people and the only flag which will be flown in that ancient land is their own.

Show respect for them.

There are some who are alive at this moment who will not be alive shortly.

Those who do not wish to go on that journey, we will not send.

As for the others, I expect you to rock their world.

Wipe them out if that is what they choose.

But if you are ferocious in battle remember to be magnanimous in victory.

Iraq is steeped in history.

It is the site of the Garden of Eden, of the Great Flood and the birthplace of Abraham.

Tread lightly there.

You will see things that no man could pay to see

-- and you will have to go a long way to find a more decent, generous and upright people than the Iraqis.

You will be embarrassed by their hospitality even though they have nothing.

Don't treat them as refugees for they are in their own country.

Their children will be poor, in years to come they will know that the light of liberation in their lives was brought by you.

If there are casualties of war then remember that when they woke up and got dressed in the morning they did not plan to die this day.

Allow them dignity in death.

Bury them properly and mark their graves.

It is my foremost intention to bring every single one of you out alive.

But there may be people among us who will not see the end of this campaign.

We will put them in their sleeping bags and send them back.

There will be no time for sorrow.

The enemy should be in no doubt that we are his nemesis and that we are bringing about his rightful destruction.

There are many regional commanders who have stains on their souls and they are stoking the fires of hell for Saddam.

He and his forces will be destroyed by this coalition for what they have done.

As they die they will know their deeds have brought them to this place. Show them no pity.

It is a big step to take another human life.

It is not to be done lightly.

I know of men who have taken life needlessly in other conflicts.

I can assure you they live with the mark of Cain upon them.

If someone surrenders to you then remember they have that right in international law and ensure that one day they go home to their family.

The ones who wish to fight, well, we aim to please.

If you harm the regiment or its history by over-enthusiasm in killing or in cowardice, know it is your family who will suffer.

You will be shunned unless your conduct is of the highest -- for your deeds will follow you down through history.

We will bring shame on neither our uniform or our nation.

It is not a question of if, it's a question of when.

We know he has already devolved the decision to lower commanders, and that means he has already taken the decision himself.

If we survive the first strike we will survive the attack.

As for ourselves, let's bring everyone home and leave Iraq a better place for us having been there.

Our business now is north.

My brother served for over 25 years; 3 times Op Telic, and 2 times Op Herrick. But before that, as a young Tiff, he was in Bosnia (which was particularly distressing, with the bodies of kids etched in his mind). At the multinational brigade HQ, they would mix in the mess with other nationalities. He recalled the American soldiers; mostly much the same as the British, in their view of the world and their service. But there was a handful wo saw their duty as religious in nature. They were mocked by their fellow soldiers, and seemed a minority.

It seems they got promoted and are taking over. Nothing wrong with a bit of faith before a battle, to make your peace, but to be inspired to kill because its God's desire, and some sort of holy mission seems perverse.

Trump says US Navy will protect ships in Middle East 'if...

The US President said he was taking steps to keep energy supplies flowing as oil and gas prices continued to surge.

United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to provide shipping insurance to merchant ships in the Persian Gulf (referred to by the US as the Arabian Gulf). Currently many vessals are at anchor in the Gulf of Oman, prinicipally because of insurance concerns. Most shipping insurers have withdrawn war risk cover for the Persian Gulf. If military escorts are provided, then precedence (Operation Earnest WIll) suggests ships will need to reflag as US.

33% of the deployed US Navy surface fleet is in the Gulf providing air defence at a time when land systems might be running low on missiles. Adding escort duties would likely be a distraction. It is further evidence of a lack of planning, and that, contrary to the President's assertion that the US initiated the action, SoS Rubio is closer to the actualite by stating it was a reaction to a sudden realisation that Israel was unilaterally taking action, likely exposing US assets to attack and harm.

The lack of planning is also evidenced in the reaction of Allies, and hesitation over use of basing. Previously, US administrations have closely consulted with NATO allies, to create conditions that provide legitimacy, eg Reagan and strikes on Libya. There was obviously no consultation at all. The US complains, with some justification, that it does not want to get involved in Europeans' foreign wars, but then cries when Europeans hesitate over involvement in an American foreign war, driven it seems by the interests of a non-NATO member. It appears that the lines of communication between US Commanders and NATO colleagues are breaking down. possibly due to political direction. This will hasten the collapse of the mightiest alliance in human history.

It is an act of utter diplomatic vandalism, and national self harm. NATO has enabled 80 years of Pax Americana, which has brought the US fabulous wealth. The end engineered by a man who did not serve his country, and at a time when his nation was in great distress, regarded the men who went to Vietnam with contempt ("losers").

There is still time to mend bridges. LBJ begged Harold Wilson for just a single British soldier to be sent to Vietnam. LBJ asked for "even a marching band, anything you can spare". Wilson's reply was, famously, "Not Even a Piper's Band". Yet 10 years after the loathsome Johnson pottered off, a second rate actor was forming a defining alliance with a grocer's daughter, an alliance that brought about the downfall of an Empire, without a shot being fired.

25 miles huh ? You ever been there ? I have.
You understand they do not control the waters ?
It silly to think Israel would let them move tankers into place, even sillier to think thats possible

The first confirmed fatalities in trump's operation Epstein Files distraction

Captain Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, FA
Sergeant First Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, NE
Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, MN
Sergeant Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, IA

A bombing campaign was meticulously planned, with targets carefully selected and tee'd up

However, so far, apparently no planning for:
Who takes over;
Addressing Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
How to defend US bases in the region;
Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz;
How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.

The Israeli Defence Minister has said they will kill whoever takes over. So I am not sure how even an Iranian surrender can be negotiated. The Israeli implication is that there needs to be some sort of boots on the ground, defeat Iranian military, akin to 1945 and 2003, when Germany and Iraq were basically beaten by wiping out organised resistance, and occupying territory.

Mojtaba Khamenei looks to inherit Supreme Leader title from his father. He is super close to the Revolutionary Guard hardliners. In addition to the US killing his mum and dad, the US has also killed his wife and kid. Good start to negotiations.

Now you will have created another failed state, but with 3 times the population of Libya, 12% of global oil reserves, a bunch of missing enriched uranium, chemical munitions, and possibly biologicals. Possessed by pissed off people who believe in going to heaven, flavoured with a strong sense of Xerses the Great.

First of all, condolences for those four you mentioned.

Back on topic, what you have described is a major disaster with no end in sight. Trump continually moves the targets and his own camp is calling him out and even contradicting him before the whole world.

Ukraine has been sharing real world operational experience, but with strings attached.

Partners are reaching out to us, to Ukraine, for help with defense against Shaheds, expertise, and real operational support. There have been requests about this from the American side as well. These past few days I've spoken with the leaders of the Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. There will be more talks with other regional leaders. We're coordinating with our European partners. Of course, any assistance we provide is only on the condition that it doesn't diminish our own defense in Ukraine and that it serves as an investment in our diplomatic leverage. We help protect from war those who help us, Ukraine, bring this war to a dignified end
