Senator connects the dots between Russian intel and Epstein-Trump saga

Sheldon Whitehouse

A senior US senator has laid out a web of alleged connections linking disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein to Russian intelligence — and brushing the orbit of Donald Trump.

In a sweeping review of newly surfaced material, Sheldon Whitehouse told colleagues that Epstein’s global network overlapped with intelligence services, oligarchs and powerful political figures. The Rhode Island Democrat argued the pattern raises urgent questions about whether Epstein’s trafficking operation doubled as a geopolitical leverage machine.

The Maxwell Link: A Possible Russian Thread

Whitehouse traced one route through media baron Robert Maxwell, father of Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Reading from an MI6 assessment, he said the elder Maxwell was described as “a thoroughly bad character and almost certainly financed by Russia”.

That connection, Whitehouse argued, places Epstein’s inner circle closer to Russian intelligence than previously acknowledged. The senator said the emerging evidence demands deeper scrutiny by Western investigators.

Oligarchs, Campaign Figures and Intelligence Overlap

Among the most striking relationships cited was Epstein’s reported contact with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. Deripaska also maintained ties with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort — a link Whitehouse said illustrates how financial and political networks intersected.

New files also show Epstein communicating internationally while cultivating powerful contacts in the United States, Israel and beyond.

The Honeytrap Allegations

Whitehouse said evidence suggests Epstein systematically recorded visitors at his properties. Cameras hidden throughout his homes captured encounters that victims say could be used for blackmail.

Survivor Virginia Giuffre has described rooms filled with surveillance monitors, claiming Epstein bragged he “collected” powerful people. Police later recovered hidden cameras in his Florida residence.

Bank Flags and Intelligence Warnings

Financial institutions also raised alarms. JPMorgan Chase flagged more than $1bn in suspicious transactions linked to Epstein, including thousands potentially connected to trafficking activity.

Whitehouse also pointed to comments by former federal prosecutor Alexander Acosta, who once suggested Epstein “belonged to intelligence” and that decisions around his 2008 plea deal were made “above my pay grade”.

Pressure Builds for Full Disclosure

Poland’s prime minister Donald Tusk has already ordered a broad investigation into possible Russian links.

Whitehouse said the larger picture remains incomplete — but warned that powerful figures across politics and business were “very mixed up with Epstein”. He ended by accusing the US Justice Department of failing to fully expose the network’s reach.

and brushing the orbit of Donald Trump.

Translated from woke-speak = had sweet Fanny Adams to do with Trump, a theme common with the Dems Epstein files/Trump witchhunt. But nice try, again.
