Making a 90 day report first time in a few years.

Featured Replies

I've been doing online 90 day reports for a few years, but because I'm about to get a new passport I believe the next 90 day has to be done in person.

The last time I did a report at Jomtien it was only necessary to present your passport, now I believe there are a couple of forms to fill out.

I have been at the same address for 16 years, do I still have to fill out a TM30?

I still get a reminder a couple of weeks before the due date from the online reporting.

The notification did go missing for me a few months back but it appears to have been turned back on again since January

  • Perhaps not applicable in your case here, but letting folks know the 'reminder email message' sometimes has ended up in the junk folder. Best not to depend on that reminder. DIY reminding works best.

They want to see a TM30, if you haven't got one you'll need to do it. See image from Jomtien. Busy there, maybe a stressful hour

What Jomtien requires may not be generic to all.

It would seem relatively obvious that a new Passport would involve the transfer of current status/stamps which again obviously would presumably involve in person presence. As happens for most people I know and for myself the issue of the TM 30 has lost significance so long as usual residential address remains unchanged.

The hand written slip in my passport verifying the TM 30 has not been added to in the last 5 years of extensions of stay.

The only subtle change I have noted is the online notification of upcoming 90 day report date has ceased even though the online 90 report system itself still works well.

@scubascuba3 has posted the requirements for Jomtien the op asked about Jomtien

Jomtien has their own requirements other offices vary in their requirements,

that's one of the strengths of this forum members can report the specific requirements of the local immigration office that often diverge from the 'norm'

Once you have the new passport, for some reason you will have to do TM30 again, even if the officer who transfers your Visa stamp into your new passport and also moves the old TM30 from the old to the new passport.

Probably at Jomtien but it was not required for me at the other office in Chonburi.

Yeah - you have to do the first one in person, after which you can go back to online.

Immigration in Phetchaburi requires too for 90days report. copie passport first page, copy visa stamp and last entry and address together with 90 days report.

It seems we are real criminals here.... as people out of jail have less paperwork and nothing happens when they don't report to the rehabilitation centre.... So why for the foreigners who stay for years already?? Is the TDAC not enough? The bad guys don't report anyway.

I got around that by giving the IO who moved my stamps from old to new passport a tip and asking for his mobile number. My first 90 day report afterwards duly rejected. I rang him up and he made it go through.

Just got a new passport, when visiting the immigration office to get my Visa stamps transferred, I asked for a new 90day, even though it had a 6-7 weeks left on it. They were happy to help and said the next 90day should be ok to do online.

You're right on that! My IO also brought my 90 day report into line when switching my stamps from old to new passport and issuing my next retirement extension. The online report prior to that had rejected. Thus, my first online report afterwards must have rejected for a different reason.

What immigration office was that?

Nakhon Phanom, office to office doesn't change much. Sounds funny, but if you dont go in with shorts and flip flops and not cutting to close on days (last min) they will work with you.

Not heard if Jomtjen office will bypass the 90 day check on a new passport so you can do it online. Different offices can have much different requirements.

As the number changes on the new passport they should do it ok.

WHY? With 6 or 7 weeks left. Makes a mockery of the system, right or wrong. Do you call it the 45 day report from now on?

Offices do differ greatly in some respects. Here in Phitsanulok, I only need my Passport, no forms to do 90 days, and now it is co-ordinated with my Extension date.

I still get emails reminding me of when I need to do 90 days, but it quotes the date you should do it again (Beach Boys and Steely Dan),

When the IO transferred stamps to my new passport, she printed out a new TM30 for me as it was getting tatty after 10 years, and PAPERCLIPPED it to the back page, no staples in Pillock.

SEEM not SEAM.

Just to put you right, I DO NOT dye my hair, my wife does not have a boyfriend, and are YOU not in bed, it is gone 8 pm?

Well that is very enlightening whatever you mean by it.

Been here 16 years, renewed passport once before, there is no TM30 in either of my old passports, no idea what one looks like or if I ever filled one out 16 years ago.

Never needed a Cert of Residence.... ? They seem to want a TM30 for that.

Pro tip: In his situation, when OP goes to Jomtien Soi-5, first visit the copy shop close to Immigration on the 2nd rd end. They have every form you need, will make all the copies you need and put them in the proper order. Total cost will be under B50

For almost any immigration process, these people will know exactly what you need.
