Visa extension at IT SQ -v exempt- with no accomodation arrangements

Featured Replies

Hi mates ,

i am wondering if i could just made up some accomodation details required at IT square , do they really check it up or its just protocol wo great weight on the visa extension process.

Fact is i will be arriving at Don mueang early morning and plan to go to inmigration right away wo proper accomodation arrangements rather look into it later in the evening .. and even if i had it booked probably wont be recorded till i made the check in later in the day so just book probably not good enough if they really look into it .

Anyone ever made up those details and came out good ..

Regards.

Of course they check up on it.

Seems that you are entering visa exempt that currently will provide a 60 day stamp.

At Lak Si immigration almost certainly will require a TM30.

They are done on the spot by hotel etc.

Also they won't issue extension with 60 days remaining on permission of stay.

Why is the 30 day extension needed on first day or so upon entry.

The doc check girls will want a TM30

At very least the earliest you could obtain extension is 45 days prior to expiry of entry stamp

I am travelling from within thailand , allready here since early febraury .

Done this several times allready , been around SEA 3 years till now - hopping !! - but always had accomodattion arrangaments with check in made .. i am just wondering if can be done wo it ...

Never been asked about no TM30 ..thats for travellers at condos or arbnb i beleive.. just fill in hotel name , room number and adress ... but i am not certain wether they check it or not ... i would go for the latter given its always so busy yet perhaps they look into some database or smthg where all foreigners are listed by hotels on arrival .. dunno ...

cheers .

What don't you understand.

A TM30 almost certainly will be required.

You apply for extension at immigration office where you are located. Hence proof of accommodation required.

In the main that equates to a TM30.

No mate , you seem to have done it always under some rental status whereas this is my nth time - i am around since autumn 2022 - always made it at IT LAksi Square - minus once at hat yai - thats many times ...never asked for ant paper doc where interaction with hotel workers was required , just fill those 4 docs TM.7 , STM.2 , STM.7 and STM.11 ... all you need is info where you are staying .. name , adreess and room number ... but can you made it up ? do they look into it ?

Thats my question here .

Best regards.

I have posted correct advice along with links to two different threads backing that up.

Clearly with your wealth of experience your question must be rhetorical

you seem to be experienced with extension etc, and it seems no one knows more than you, with 19 posts under your belt. you need a tm30 showing on your record

this conversation is becoming quite absurd ... it just ocurred to me this might be done automatically by hotel staff once you check in and probably is posted at some online place where inmigration can check it ...

i personally never had to ask no hotel worker for anything in all my times at laksi ...but hey ... what do i know ......

cheers ...

Yes, the hotel has to register you, hence why you probably didn't have to provide anything yourself. You may get in trouble this time with no online registration and made up stay. Or you may get lucky. I wouldn't try it honestly.

Sure. A hotel usually reports your check-in via the TM30 online system. The IO who processes your extension can see this in the system.

Telling applicants to bring along their TM30 receipt is good advice, for two reasons: Firstly, that ensures that they check with their hotel that the TM30 notification has been submitted before heading to immigration. Secondly, and this is "hit and miss", sometimes the pre-screening IOs at the tables where the queue numbers are handed out ask for it. If they do ask you and you don't have it, you won't get a queue number.

Ok that was my late toughts so i will not risk it and check in at some hotel day prior just in case .....about having it printed by hotel and carry it on to inmigration honestly in my 6-8 times done it at laksi i was never asked for it ....probably they just want it be done asap with no overdoing ...

Thx for response this was helpfull.

From another current thread.. I asked guy that did an extension Lak Si this week.

Asking for guy in another thread.

He is going to Lak Si for 30 extension.

I suggested that TM30 required.

Maybe because you used agent io let it slide

Yes, indeed. Agent said it was not necessary but I do believe if you go by yourself, it is needed.

IT Square has been asking for TM30 for a while now although some people skate thru without it, more than a few people have been turned away because they didn't have one showing they are registered as staying in Bangkok.

unless that was a rhetorical question the answer is "clearly not as much as you imagine you know" 😄

report back and let people know if you got the extension sans TM30 if you would

Things change in TH & it is at the discretion of the IO what he wants to see.

Although I come under a diff. category, I was never asked for a tm30 in years gone by. This year I was asked for proof. I live in serviced apts. which are considered "hotel".

Hi again,

I just went through extension at IT LAKSI SQUARE and again - 6-8 times allready - was never asked for tm.30 ...always went with accomodation and check in through HOTEL- GUEST HOUSE bear in mind ....so yes i reckon its not really needed unless you are lodged in some other kind of acccomodation .

On another note i went there 730 am and had never seen it so uncommonly uncrowded ...first in the line along some fellowvanerican and we were both expecting usual long lines ...it all was done within 20-30 mins after opening when there were only 40-50 people tops and when i left noone at the line of the checking first stage table....i do not know what the reason behind is ...monday perhaps ?! Middle east 'war' ..luck !!? Combination of the above ..all togueter? .. songkran in two weeks ...late in month...a combination of the above!? ...and so on .

Best regards btw..
