Me twisting?

You replied to a post that made clear there would be a food crisis in the future, by ridiculing that poster, and claiming there was plenty of food, ignoring the FACT that there will be a food crisis in the future.

Twisting again, as I stated, as you can clearly see ... plenty of food in TH. And please point out this imaginary ridicule.

Simply 2 rational, non trolling posters, expressing a different opinion. Try it sometime.

Will need to wait & see, if the food crisis in the future, does indeed become a fact. I guessing ... NOT

To grow food you need fertilizer. Make a wild guess where that comes from. So while fresh markets have food now, farmers will have to grow new one, to supply those markets in the future

  • The imaginary fuel shortage is good for the economy, well 7-11 anyway, as probably doing a brisk business. And people say it takes too long to charge an EV

Until there is no electricity anymore. 56% of Thailand's electricity is produced from natural gas. Thailand imports 79% of its natural gas

Was definitely a great idea to put up solar cells and get electric car... especially since this crisis, if more infrastructure in the Middle East gets blown up, may last years.

It helps to have a car that gets 23 kilometer/liter. And this "fuel crisis" is completely artificial. Oil companies are raking in the profits.

The fuel crisis deepened as drivers lined up with jerry cans before sunrise in Thailand amid chaos in the Middle East. Footage shows a long queue of motorists waiting to refill vehicles at a station in Songkhla on March 23.

One local said: 'I had to wake up at 2 am to place jerry cans in line before the station opened at 6 am because the cans placed at the opening would already be near the hundredth position in the queue.'

Authorities reported that shrimp farm owners, sea bass pond operators, and rice farmers were among those affected by the shortage. Another resident said: 'We're calling on the government to find a solution, as fishers and drivers rely on fuel for their work. We had to sacrifice rest and other daily activities while waiting for action.'

Energy Minister Auttapol Rerkpiboon said Thailand has secured around 2.6 million barrels from Angola and the US, adding the country's refineries were operating at full capacity.

So why not negotiate with Russia for shipments like Vietnam did. And then, kick the US out of Thailand and negotiate with Iran to get shipments through the Straits.
Instead, they pick unreliable, expensive source of fuel that is going to decimate Thai agriculture (which should be prioritized by the Thai government but is not) and as supply chains collapse, retail as well.

I think the main reason why there are outages is that the supply can not keep up with the people stocking up, not because there is a shortage yet

I believe there is both. It appears the overpurchasing started the ball rolling on the shortages on supply side and refueling have been slower than normal in the south. The government's claims of adequate stock levels dont seem to be proving accurate. Lips service not followed by action.

This topic is not about your wife, unless she provides the whole nation with fruit and veggies, and neither is it about how the farmers grew food 100 years ago.

Organic food is priced 3-4 times that of normal grown. How is the average Thai gonna afford that?

If this situation in't solved quickly, which I doubt it will knowing the attitude of your MAGA leader, there will be a food crisis worldwide 6 months from now

You may not like it but he's right.

Organic anything toady is a joke. The cheat the definition of it all the time and its expensive because all the soccer moms will pay it so they can talk a good talk around the pool.
Want an easy example, organic pasture raised eggs. Its fake, there is no regulatory agency of any kind confirming "pasture raised" anything.
But they jack the price up so all the white guilt women will buy them.

You know whats not expensive, growing your own food. Thats what normal people do every day. The Thais will be just fine, try worrying about yourself. Doesn't sound like you have a clue about growing anything

EDIT: As far as diesel goes, most of the Thais here stopped dumping the cooking oil down the storm drain and are putting it in their trucks.
No fuel shortage there for those that can think for themselves

Sage advice to save fuel costs and shortages... thumbsup

Well, according to this data, the claims of catastrophic agricultural collapse are unfounded. Saudia Arabia is still exporting its nitrogen based products. The Israelis are still exporting fertilizer. Only Qatar has suspended its exports.

There are alternative and more sustainable fertilizer options. Relying on fossil fuel derived products was never an environmentally responsible option.

Saudi Arabia's exports have to go through the strait of hormuz to reach Asia. Is the SOH open now then?

Don't know if Israel's exports also have to pass the SOH to reach Asia, but I believe there is another obstacle in the Red Sea

What did growers use before fancy ferilisers came around ?? what was put onto the ground to ferilise the Soil ?? give you a clue Buffaloe and a shovel.

Some relief in sight 😊

An oil tanker has passed the strait of Hormuz heading to Thailand for BangChak.
