Fuel Shortages

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a road trip later this week to the Phimai/Prathai area for a spot of fishing. As the title suggests, I’m a bit concerned about petrol availability (Gas 91/85) out that way.

I’d rather not end up stranded in the middle of nowhere, so if anyone has any recent local knowledge or updates on fuel availability in the area, I’d really appreciate the advice. Thanks in advance!

How far is that as a return trip?

Guess you mean 91 / 95?

Can your car drive on E20?

Interestingly here are small village pumps (barrels) who have 95 fuel for 44 Baht, Diesel 47 Baht. And it's their suppliers who rise the price.

Just seen that you come from Bang Saray.

So no way to return without refill.

I just read in the other thread that still 95 and maybe 91 / E20 are available often with 500 Baht limit.

("Bangkok to Chiang Mai")

Other than Diesel still seems available.

Google translate of an article in German from today:

Diesel rationed, long queues

Despite these adjustments, the situation remains tense. In Nakhon Ratchasima province, particularly in the Dan Khun Thot district, queues for diesel fuel sometimes extended well beyond the premises of the gas stations. Sales were limited to 500 baht per vehicle, and filling jerrycans was prohibited. Gasoline, including grades 91 and 95 as well as Gasohol E20, was available without restrictions and involved significantly shorter waiting times
