A Free $1,000 To Blow on Subscription Services, How Would You Do It?

Featured Replies

If someone handed you a free $1000 and said you could only spend it on online subscription services for the next year, how would you use it?

There are so many options now across streaming, AI tools, news, productivity, and creative software that it’s easy to lose track of what actually adds value. I’m curious what people here consider “worth it” versus what feels optional or overrated.

Here’s how I’d probably allocate mine:

| Adobe Photoshop | Visual Design & Editing | ~$240 |

| The Economist | Global News & Analysis | ~$240 |

| Google One AI Premium | AI & Image Creation | ~$240 |

| Runway (Standard) | AI Video Creation | ~$150 |

| Netflix | Video Streaming | ~$120 |

I tried to balance creative tools, information, and entertainment, but honestly it still feels like a bit of a luxury lineup.

Although, let’s be real, someone could just blow the entire $1000 on Pornhub and OnlyFans and never give it another thought.

What about you? Would you go all in on AI tools, stack multiple streaming platforms, focus on productivity, or something else entirely?

Funny thing is, even though it would be nice for me to have all of the ones I listed, I currently don’t pay for any subscriptions and I’m getting along just fine. No real sense of missing out either. Makes me wonder how much of this is actually “need” versus just added distractions.

I’d proudly donate the entire $1000 to my best friend’s GoFundMe, because clearly what he needs most right now is a generous financial boost toward getting treatment to untangle his mental health saga

Anything apart from the BBC licence fee

I would use it to subscribe to a few more onlyfans pages.

And that would raise you up to how many in total?

That would hopefully bump me from 32 to 80 or more.

Instead of BBC, what about supporting a group of independent high-quality content creators on YouTube via Patreon?

I’d proudly donate the entire $1000 to my best friend’s GoFundMe, because clearly what he needs most right now is a generous financial boost toward getting treatment to untangle his mental health saga and ongoing identity crisis. With any luck, this might be the investment that helps him figure out which gender is actually in charge on any given day.

Not personally spoken to a dog to have the reason explained, Have you ?

Would spend it on something else , something that would last

longer than a year , as I can get everything I want for free, subscription wise,

you just have to look. football , news, movies, magazines, also porn, you can

only watch so much stuff ,not enough time in a day.

regards worgeordie

a claude.ai subscription

Really ? Are you so strapped for money that someone has to hand you 1000 $ to subscribe to something ?

I would spend it on the best quality porn.

Useless for me, as I don't use any subscription services. If it applied to internet or phone service, reckon I'd use it there.

I don't do porn, or pay for news access. I won't even register for access to anything, let alone pay for it. If Google doesn't provide it free, then I don't see it.

Do you pay it right now?

Like seriously, what is this garbage post even about. Get a life perhaps or spend the rest of the days figuring out what open source software is, that will keep you busy. Ciao.

After converting to Zorin, all my apps are open source and FREE.

I do subscribe to a guy in UK for a TV apk to go onto my Firestick or Bluestacks, 50 quid a year for two instances which give me more than enough to watch 24/7.

The other 950 I would spend on wine, women, and song.

Interesting but not for me. I subscribe to Real Debrid so I can download almost anything I want for free and tracking me down is near impossible and Google's Gemini Pro is much better than the free version. If anything adds value after considering the cost, I will subscribe. Usually under2000 baht per month so no big deal.

Been enticed now 3 times the last 5 years to give Netflix a spin. This go around lasted 3 weeks. If I didn't have to use a VPN that is always an an issue, maybe I would stay with them. Netflix is so cheap. Either my ISP throttles me or Netflix closes my connections periodically because it detects a vpn.

Better to to just use torrents paired with Plex. I can watch whatever I want with an unlimited library!

Probably Suno

Are they difficult to setup? Never used a private torrent and usually use Real Debrid's torrent search to find torrents and to store them in their cloud.

Not difficult at all. Do you already have a download engine like utorrent? I simply provide you with an invite and the site works like most other torrent sites. Except this one is awesome and never has any issues.

Interesting. What does Grab Unlimited do for you?
