My understanding of 'eclipse' is that something gets in the way of something else in this case supposedly according to NASA the earth has got in the way of the sun..so the sun is behind the earth right ? if so how can the opposite side of the earth be in full illumination ?

This is only a partial eclipse so the light from the Sun is refracted (bent) by the atmosphere and also experiences Rayleigh scattering. Both effects result in light illuminating the dark side of the Earth.

The 'opposite side' is only partially illuminated but the camera uses a long exposure so the image of the Earth appears brighter. They've done this before you know 🤔

Here's a picture taken with a shorter exposure which is (strangely) right next to the picture from your link.

You should stop relying on 'your' understanding of things - its really not doing you any favour nor shining you in the brightest of light (no pun).

Physics hasn’t collapsed.... Just your assumption that “shadow equals total blackness everywhere, always” - which of course is not true.

Space cameras (especially from missions like Artemis) use high dynamic range imaging and can pull detail out of very dim light.

So what you believe to be “impossible illumination” is just the camera and processing being better than your education.

However, you vcan check by checking the cloud formations, as they are constantly changing, so you should be able to show they are wrong?

I must say the last few days are making my hoax and flat earth theories look a bit shaky – please save my embarrassment, flat earthers and hoaxers and explain whats happening in more detail than one-liners.

They haven't 'enhanced' the image and both pictures are 'real'. They have simply opened the aperture (hole) in front of the lens for longer on the brighter picture. On modern digital cameras this is achieved by powering the image sensor for longer.

This is a technique that is as old as the invention of the camera itself 🙂

It's also evident in the photos. You can clearly see that the Sun is 'overexposed' in the brighter picture.

No, not until Artemis mission 5, should this and other missions go according to plan. Missions 3 and 4 take and test the lunar lander systems, before mission 5 makes a manned lunar landing. That won't be until 2028 at the earliest. Though I suspect they might aim for 2029, 60 years since Apollo 11.

Nothing but wasted funds, as what do we really have to show for it ... nothing.

Anyone who knows anything about photography knows that the " click" actually represents a tiny part of the photo...they are not and never have been analogous.

And as if to compound their stupidity they seem to think that this mistaken belief somehow proves the space launches are hoaxes. Its the kind of thinking of a 7 year old.

It makes me wonder how many active members on this forum who think this moon expedition is fake also believe the Moon landing was faked and that the Earth is flat. It would be interesting to run a poll where everyone who believes this is fake, as well as those who are unsure, could answer.

Being skeptical is healthy, but there is a limit to how far the craziness goes.
