The group reportedly contacted the victim's family in Vietnam via video call to demand cash during the attack. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining the relationships between those involved. Police have not revealed if the suspects have confessed to the crimes, citing the investigation's active status.

Data from June 2025 shows 660,483 Vietnamese residents live in Japan, making them the second-largest foreign community after Chinese nationals. This incident underscores the complexities and challenges within Japan's growing multicultural society.

Authorities are yet to determine all details, including the precise roles of each suspect, as the investigation continues. Further developments are awaited as police work to unravel the motivations and connections in this tragic case.
