How will you cope during the increased heat of Super El Nino? Any new strategies will help me plan. (I arrive in 2 weeks.)

If you're walking around a lot bring/buy a fan, a UV umbrella and maybe a cooling towel. If you don't have a cooling towel you can easily buy a refreshing towel from the fridge section in 7-eleven. Even better bring a water bladder and add ice to it. Pop it in your backpack and it can keep your back cool as it melts whilst also providing hydration.

Super El Nino ... got to love MSM hysteria.

How is that going to affect the 38°C feels like 45°C we already experience. Pending drought that never materialize, except in areas overdeveloped with poor water management that has nothing to do with the weather.

I'm thinking, MSM inflation, again, and maybe an excuse to raise prices on some items at the end of the year and next.

Remember when living in Udon Thani, during the fake droughts, and water restricted, but no problem having trucks deliver to your house at a premium cost. Damn if they didn't come from the same PWA source ... shh

That's why smart people collect rain water. We always go into dry season with 20k liter, since 2011, and have yet to need them. Eliminated that scam 15 yrs ago, with house #2 and present house.

Been here 25 yrs, and haven't run out of water yet ...

I have relatively new inverter air conditioners in a huge living room area, as well as the bedroom, and my office and they get used pretty consistently from late morning till early to mid evening.

I consider them to be one of the greatest inventions mankind has ever created.

This time of year I just don't go out much in the afternoon, I don't really like the feeling of that burn and if I can avoid it I will. I remind myself that it's really the next two months that are the worst, and fortunately at least one of those months I'll be back in broken down California, where it should be nice and cool.

Water security is a wonderful thing.

Our two wells are on the course of an underground stream. I pump nearly 2,000 litres out of one every couple of days to fill our domestic water tank.

The other is used to keep my one rai pond topped up because of natural losses (evaporation - not helped by our large fountain - and natural seepage into the ground). I can run that pump all day long for weeks on end, if necessary, as I did in June two years ago to fill the pond initially.

First house had a well, and definitely the way to go, if possible. Only had 2 storage tanks then, which weren't even needed.

Same as usual, if not in an air-conditioned environment:

- Hat (essential, preferably with a wide brim all the way round)
- Sunglasses (why risk cataracts?)
- Long-sleeved shirts
- Shorts, unless out in the sun a lot in which case long trousers are a must
- Comfortable shoes
- Shade
- Drink more liquids than you normally do but keep the proportion of alcoholic beverages low

p.s. underwear is only necessary in cold countries 😉
p.p.s. I go for a fast bicycle ride in the late afternoon after 5pm very day. It's still hot but the UV is then low so not a concern. This helps to condition my body for the heat when I'm not exerting myself.

P.S. it is against the Thai law to go out in public without wearing underwear 😋

I have been thinking that when I come back, I might install a sprinkler system on the roof of my glass garden. Later next year, I may even build a roof above the house with a one-meter air gap.

There is always a solution to something. If I built a house today, I would definitely go for a double roof with radiant protection above the house, with enough overlap to shade and protect the walls as well, while also creating more usable outdoor space.

Cold showers, aircon, drink cold water. Wear light clothing. Didn't your mum teach you the basics of life?

its not that hard, foodland is open 5 am, so buy what you need at that time, head straight home, and stay indoors until you need foodland again. remember dont be late on that critical foodland trip, or youll regret

lol, but the basic premise still stands: buy what you need before 5 am, and dont venture outdoors again until between 4 am - 5 am,

rinse and repeat

miserable kind of a life in my opinion, but each to their own, Is the OP coming for a short holiday ? maybe he should reconsider

I think something like this could work well, especially with a proper solar power system and a few modifications to the design. I would still want an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area, but as a basic concept, this is a good starting point for how I would begin thinking about my next project.

Thats maybe the right word for it yes, and I like the simplicity of it, and also protecting the house and less maintenance

Wrong;

There’s no statute in Thailand that directly mandates the wearing of underwear. However, the Thai Penal Code, particularly Section 388, sets the tone for public behavior. It states that anyone who causes a nuisance or behaves in a way that offends public morality in public spaces can be fined. The law doesn’t care about your undergarments—it cares about the impact of your appearance on others.

Is It Allowed to Go Out in Public Without Underwear in Thailand? - Allowed Or Not?

Yours obviously did not going by the repetitive offensive posts you make!

Don't Worry, Be Happy. It's not any hotter this year than years before.

It is not a "link" as such as these are normally no longer available in most posts;

Copy and/or paste it and then follow the search the web etc!

It works as I have just retried it!
