Why shopee scammers have no negative ratings

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

This is why scammers on Shopee still have only positive ratings.

I order double-sided "3M" tape on Shopee, but of course what is received has nothing to do with 3M. Since the cost is so low, I can't be bothered to return it, as the cost to me would be higher than the refund I can receive.

Instead, I thought it would be better to warn other potential customers of being scammed.

No way Jose, if you try to post a negative review, Shopee will simply not accept it. Great customers service, isn't it?

I had a similar thing happen on Lazada..except it wasn't a even a warning about

a fake product it was just a heads up that the product did not have WiFi conectivity

as I had thought it did..so my entire review and rating was removed with no chance to submit a new review ohh well 'never mind' T.i.T

I run into this regularly. You need to have an idea about the market price for your product and be willing to pay it. Something like 3M tape can be tricky, because an effective copy can be made for much less, Just know you may not be happy with it.

That is not what this topic is about, it is about Shopee not allowing to warn other customers.

They will not allow to give a negative review.

Also when you return a product you will not get the option to write a review. They are clearly protecting the scam sellers

I have not had that problem, but they need better control over their vendors and need to take more responsibility for fraud.

So what happened when you pressed "submit anyway"?

Obviously I did not, as Shopee warned already that it would be a waste of time.

Take note this was an EDIT. I had already posted the review a few days ago, and had added the words that the seller was a scammer.

That review was still not visible, so I removed the words that the seller was a scammer, and hoped it would then be posted.

But nope, Shopee still didn't accept.

You can see everything written in the review, do you see any offensive wording?

  • Popular Post

No I don't see any offensive wording but you may have had better luck if you'd simply said "the tape received was not 3m brand" as opposed to adding "don't waste your time ordering"

Or maybe not.

obviously using the word scammer originally is the problem. I've never had that warning before because i haven't said scammer even though I've left 1* to 3* negative reviews

In the edit the word scammer has been removed.

Did you check if your 1* reviews also were visible in the shop rating?

I check the product rating and the 1* rating etc is there, I've not looked at the shop rating

I've bought that double sided tape in the past through shopee and thought the same as you, but in actual fact the red top does peel off of a clear layer of very sticky gel. Great for repairing mobiles etc.

Whenever I receive a product that is incorrect or faulty I always send it back - it is free and they even collect. Plus, if it was very cheap and from China, they usually just give the refund without return.

Most of us have effectively destroyed the packaging just to get a look at our purchase. And are too lazy to return.

But it litterally says you can "submit anyway" on your photo. So whats the problem?

And to be fair this is exactly what the topic is about. If you think you can buy gold for $2 an ounce but find out to your surprise its fake. Your biggest concern is that you cannot place a negative review?

If its too cheap compared to legit products. Buyer beware, simple. Furthermore (slightly off topic but) many products bought from China are non returnable. Again buyer beware.

But it clearly says " some of the review content don't meet our criteria", what part of that is it that you don't understand as, it will not be made visible?

You take things to the extreme now. We are not talking about $2 gold, we are talking about a product at a discount.

The other day I bought this, which cost 650 baht in the hardware stores, for 292 baht, and it is the genuine thing.

The title of your post requires a QUESTION MARK after it - I read it as a Statement of fact rather than a query = I was hoping to get an answer rather than a question.

Oh well, it could be worse – my Mac mini is playing up. It’s only a year old and I bought an extended warranty when I bought it.

That warranty includes home service, but what does Apple tell me when I report the problem? “Sorry, we don’t offer home service in your area.”

So you pay for it, and then you’re left to sort it out yourself.

You can however report the shop for selling counterfeit items, Shopee has a function for that – I have no experience if it works, but used it once.

Being an advanced member, I think you already know the answer to your question.

Any negative rating or comment can be called slander or defamation of character, whether it is right or wrong.

Therefore, a lot of the online companies make sure to protect themselves.

The only way is if there is a star rating to give them a 1.
