Despite what Trump says, I am not sure US oil would be described as "sweetest and best". I have only ever seen it, and Venezuela's described as sour crude. Which is why trump invaded Venezuela, because US refineries are built to refine that heavier type of oil, and they were short. Maybe if he starts fracking.

Now Canada, and Russia can also step up production, Saudi will likely enlarge it's pipelines to the Red sea, and Pakistan and India might now finally complete their parts of the already built Iranian pipelines to supply them.

Trump will TACO the US blockade when China sends it's navy to escort it's own ships through the strait.

As for the rest of the world, they will likely do a deal with Iran, who will have to be careful not to price themselves out of the market with their tolls. Otherwise we might see another fight to open the strait by force. This time likely a coalition without the US...and definitely no Israeli involvement.

No. US crude is still mostly if not entirely light. It's just that refineries on the Gulf coast that are built to process high sulfur crude. Basically they were built because at the time they were built, it looked like light oil supply from US wells was going to diminish. Then came fracking. But by that time, these refineries were already built.
