Iran Faces Oil Shutdown As Storage Nears Breaking Point

Iran Oil.jpg

Tanks Filling Fast

Iran is rapidly running out of space to store crude oil as the U.S. blockade halts exports, with estimates suggesting capacity of around 122 million barrels could be exhausted within weeks. At current production levels, that leaves Tehran with a narrow window before storage hits its limit.

Countdown To Production Cuts

Analysts warn Iran may have as little as two to eight weeks before it is forced to scale back output. Experts at firms like Energy Aspects say the crunch could come even sooner, potentially within a fortnight if exports remain blocked.

Risk Of Long-Term Damage

Shutting down oil fields is not a simple pause. Sudden production halts can permanently damage reservoirs, making it harder and costlier to restart operations and return to previous output levels.

Economic And Global Impact

With most exports — largely bound for China — now cut off, Iran faces deepening financial strain. At the same time, any disruption to its oil production risks pushing global energy prices even higher, adding further pressure to an already volatile market.

Have they not offshored huge amounts in preparation for this blockade?........that will empty their storage facilities, bring the cash in and allow them to replenish ready for the the strait to reopen......clever.

All they need to do now is bomb a couple of VLCCs, closed the strait down, and turn the (negotiating) tables on the US.
