‘He breaks it!’ Ex-Republican tears into Trump

Featured Replies

A furious Republican-turned-critic has unleashed a blistering attack on Donald Trump, accusing him of making chaos — then shamelessly claiming credit when others clean it up. Joe Walsh did not hold back, delivering a foul-mouthed rant that paints the former president as reckless, entitled and desperate for praise. The trigger? Trump’s claim of victory over the reopening of a crucial global oil route.

Walsh blasted Trump on his Friday podcast, comparing him to an out-of-control child who was never disciplined. He described a pattern of behaviour where Trump “breaks” things, leaves a mess behind, and relies on others to fix the damage. Then, Walsh said, Trump swoops in to declare triumph.

The row centres on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane for global energy supplies. Trump took to Truth Social to announce the passage was “fully open” and demanded recognition, even urging media outlets to say “JOB WELL DONE, MR. PRESIDENT.”

But Walsh insists the reality is very different. He pointed out that the announcement came from Iran’s foreign minister — not Trump — and accused the former president of “claim-jumping” credit. His frustration boiled over as he accused Trump of instantly seizing the spotlight.

Walsh also ridiculed Trump’s wording, noting he referred to the route as the “Strait of Iran” rather than its correct name. For Walsh, the mistake underscored what he sees as a lack of understanding combined with a hunger for attention.

The criticism goes further. Walsh argued the strait had already been open weeks earlier, before Trump escalated tensions with what he described as an “illegal war.” That claim sharpened his broader accusation: Trump creates problems, then celebrates solutions he did not deliver.

The outburst highlights growing divisions among Republicans, with Walsh positioning himself as a vocal internal critic. His comments reflect wider frustration among those who say Trump’s rhetoric often clashes with events on the ground.

With tensions over Iran still simmering, the battle over narrative — and credit — is intensifying. Trump continues to project victory, while critics like Walsh push back hard.
