Trump alienates allies around the World !

Maye Europe doesnt have anything Trump needs.

Trump is cozying up to Putin and may make massive deals with Russia.

But this may be good news for the EU. If Putin is greasing his pockets with the US, he won't need to use military force to feed his population.

Nothing is that simple - good or bad.

Things are too complex to categorize that easily.

And also, people are terrified of change. Who says everything under the old system was good?

Why does Russia have to be a perpetual enemy of the West?

You are quite right -- who would want to be the perpetual enemy of people who -- for four years -- are raping their way through villages and bombing their way through civilian infrastructure.

Not Trump, that's for sure, having just publicized the same rapey and murderous inklings for Iran.

But why would you, personally, want to be friends with such people?

The worst part? Anyone with a functioning brain knows he is far too stupid, inept, and frankly uncaring to put all these policies in place. The real question - who is doing the coaching? Putin? Russel

Glad you admit that Cali is hemorrhaging businesses and people.

Trump could have given them fuel for there Aircraft or reduced the price of jetfuel for Airlines, thats why he put them under the bus in other words if you don't understand that phrase i'll simplyfy it for you Yagoda, Trump allowed them to go bust when he could have helped.

Did the USA really have allies? Aside from shared interests and mutual economic gains, the concept of "allies" is a false construct. It's not just the USA. Look at how the Europeans have treated their "allies":

-France has allowed and facilitated the travel of unauthorized migrants to the UK damaging the UK.

-The UK knowingly sold defective submarines to Canada and allegedly concealed defects. The result was the destruction of Canada's submarine capability.

-Romania allowed and facilitated tens of thousands of its nationals to exploit social benefit systems of other countries and to engage in transborder crime.

-Spain, Italy and Portugal did not respect the spirit of European mutual defense spending priorities.

-Bulgaria hosted and indirectly protected economic crime rings that targeted nordic and UK countries.

-Germany allowed the sale of nuclear and biochemical products to Iran that it knew would be used for hostile means.

-Belgium obstructed and tried to sabotage the EU free trade agreement with Canada in an effort to get more subsidies

-Multiple countries, especially Slovakia and Hungary interfered with and delayed EU efforts to support Ukraine

And so one. The takeaway is that they all do what is in their own immediate best interest and invoke the "ally" concept when it is to their own benefit. The President of the USA is there to act on behalf of the USA and do what is best for the USA. He is not there to prop up other countries or to run their economies or to protect them. The USA can't afford to carry others along for the ride. It has its own problems and struggles and needs to deal with those issues first, otherwise it will not be able to help anyone in the future. Let the USA sort itself out. It needs a period of introspection and a refocus of priorities.

What defects on the UPHOLDER class subs were identified as a reason the UK sold them to the Canadians Patong ? I worked on them.

Trump could have helped them out by reducing jet fuel costs for a start.

Nobody talks about his private meeting without records back in 2018. Putins wet dream is a broken Europe and Nato dismantled.

Is Trump Putins man ?

Trump supporters aren't interested in any of these (your) "let's have a whine about Trump" threads. Go at it, have a great time comparing notes with your fellow whiners. Ah, that's why you and others are reacting, because you don't care.

Sorry, it's above my pay grade.

I really don't understand what all the implications of what Trump is doing or trying to do are.

But neither do most other people, especially on AN.

good luck if you think you have it all worked out.

these dynamics have never existed in history. no one knows how it will play out.

too many complex issues affecting 1000 other issues.

EU may need to bolster its military, which it already has started doing/planning.

The submarine defects and issues are well documented. A quick search will bring up multiple references. Start with the faulty electrical system. The UK even delivered one of them dented and then denied their responsibility. The shortsighted deceit has caused the UK to lose subsequent military contracts, and quite rightly so. The unreliability of the two new Royal Navy aircraft carriers, and the Ajax armoured vehicle disaster are a continuation of the poor build quality of UK sourced military equipment.

When I started this thread many hours ago, I asked the question:-

"I wonder if any of the MAGA supporters here are repentant of their own part in this chaos ?"

It's interesting that none of the MAGA faithful have had ANYTHING to say, so far at least. So it appears that Trump's all-round parlous performance in this 2nd term, is simply indefensible.

Thanks to the many Posters who have replied, with more eloquence and detail than I. This farcical/tragic Presidency has set the World back by decades, (and we're not halfway in yet!).

And when they do comment it's either pure deflection, demonization of people who oppose Trump policy, or with very silly and juvenile memes, rather than an adult dialogue.

It takes a bit of courage to admit that you backed the wrong horse, or to complain about his policy even though you are a supporter, and I don't see much of that coming from Republicans these days.

But Trump is the polar opposite of a consumer advocate and by letting Spirit go under the remaining airlines will be able to continue to hike their prices to infinity, thereby creating even more hardship for the American consumer.

But that's what Trump is all about, making America a lesser version of itself, and increasing prices by the day.

Let's call it Trumpflation.

As I wrote previously, the notion of allies is a false construct.

America used to have quite a few allies and America has created a tremendous amount of goodwill with its Aid programs for the last 80 years.

All that is gone under Trump, and for the cost of a few missiles he would rather sacrifice life-saving drugs drugs for the poorest women and infants around the world. That's just who he is, a cruel, heartless, grotesque pig.

At least Trump makes it easy for us, just by listening to him, what he says and do not says.

Trump has returned to the White House. He is serious, grim, and about to make a momentous decision.

You want to know who is still by his side? Donald Trump Jr.

Here they are marching into the White House. No joking from Trump, no smiles - he is walking into the history books, about the change the world for the better. By his side is his son, comforting his father with a reassuring pat on the back.

The Electrical problem resulted in the fire that killed a crewman on board HMCS Chicoutimi was due to them setting to Sea with an open hatch whilst on the surface. As for a dent Iv'e never heard of that happening, if the UK are that poor why have they been Contracted to build and deliver at least five type 26 Frigates in 2025 to the Royal Norwegian Navy the largest export deal in UK history and why was the UK contracted to design and build Australia's first Nuclear powered Submarine. We have never lost a nuclear Sub the yanks have lost 2. Form your own opinion who builds the best and safest.

And you think that is presidential?

That is not a strength. That is exactly the problem.

A serious leader should be clear enough that people do not have to guess whether he means what he says or is just performing for attention.

Trolling may work online, but it is not the behavior of someone worthy of the office.
