Yes of course an ID for a restaurant is ridiculous and imagine having to present an ID for air travel and voting. Unbelievable for some!

Presumably the demand to see ID is a restaurant idea to prevent them being sued by patrons for health problems later due to the chemicals allowed in US food.

The ID is often required when ordering alcohol, and yes IDs are required when entering nightclubs, because they serve alcohol and there are age requirements. I often was carded in university. Even in my 30's they carded me at NYC and Boston clubs. (I had boyish good looks.) 😁

Got refused at a Publix in south Florida not too long ago for no ID. Bald as a coot with eyebags bigger than saint George of Hungary. Never been so thrilled🤣

With the current situation in US with thefts and everything in locked cabinets I have a better idea.

Make it a requirement to show ID and scan a credit card to enter any store. Everything you take out automatically charged. Been in shops in Hong Kong and Korea that have no staff even

Matter of opinion, and one's priorities for budget spending and for the direction of USA.

Bush/Cheney's & Obama's policies simply enriched themselves and financial backers. Proved already to any intelligent person following.

Trump's more toward the future stability of USA, in theory. Time will tell.

Don't think I left any of my taxes paid for anyone else's use. Near 19 yrs of full disability adds up, especially when I only had about 25 yrs of taxable salary, and wouldn't exactly call them high paying jobs.

Salaried income over my lifetime was <600k USD, and most of, last 8 years of employment.

I'm way ahead on that curve, and a blight on society. The mismanaged SS fund, and my measly input, certainly doesn't pay enough out to cover my $2425 a month, that SS gives me, with more to come every year I suck air.

2028 HARRSI 2028 ... I wouldn't mind another 20+% COLA increase like Biden gave us.

There are several reasons revisiting the US is off the table for the foreseeable future:

1. I've been there several times, so in no hurry to go back.

2. Traveling by air is kind of a gamble these days, with the jet fuel situation and whatnot.

3. This is the main reason; I don't want to. I do not want to visit a country in which 77 million of it's citizens voted for the vile creature that presently infests the WH.

   Just arriving at a US airport would be a deal breaker for me, as I would have to pass under a big picture of the orange one before getting to Immigration.
