May 7May 7 I see lots of custom cars on the road driven by Thais - I'm a fan of accessorising myself. Any of you got pimped rides?I always added a few things but today I picked up what appears to be my mid life crisis.Gremlin Green, new grille, black decals and an extra 100hp - taking it to just under 500. It's a lot of fun.Would love to see your pimping. And what your wive's said!!! Mine is not HP about that color.
May 7May 7 In the UK we call it "crashing through Halfords window", nice colour. Was always into Saab in the UK, always in "sleeper mode" took a 93 4dr saloon,154bhp 2.0 ltr turbo to over 600bhp, all FWD, use to scare the do-do out of me, but great fun. Built not brought.
May 7May 7 Popular Post More mod my ride than pimp but ive got a Got a 2025 D-Max extra cab as a play toy.Engine is in BKK Getting a built with new crank/rods/pistons/etc etc. With compound turbos/intercooler/exhaust/injectors/motec ecu//big fuel pumps/etc etc am hoping for 500+hp, adaptor to bolt up a Tremec 6 spd should be done next month.Once that is done it will be off for air bag suspension (Notch rails to get it down low) then a black mica paint job. When it finally comes home I will build the massive doof doof sound system.
May 8May 8 In the UK we tend to have "taste", we look at what's available and decide if it's tasteful and adds to the vehicle. It's totally different here in Thailand. The ethos seems to be, if someone makes an accessory it has to be good and I have to have it. Usually completely poor taste.

May 8May 8 I changed the rims and fitted more road-biased all-terrain tires, around 80/20, suitable for normal road use with some light off-road capability. I also lifted it with a heavy-duty suspension setup so it can handle legal weight more safely.I added a roll bar, which also works well as a carrier mount when I need to transport construction materials, and fitted a reinforced rear bumper with a tow hitch mount. I also use a bike carrier mounted on the tow hitch.Apart from that, I have never really been into pimping my bikes or cars. 13 hours ago, Ralf001 said:More mod my ride than pimp but ive got a Got a 2025 D-Max extra cab as a play toy.Engine is in BKK Getting a built with new crank/rods/pistons/etc etc. When it finally comes home I will build the massive doof doof sound system.Ford Raptor? 600hp ? I remember in Indonesia lusting after a Cagiva Mito motorcycle that had a 7-speed gearbox as my Honda only had 6. Then one day I was monetarily stuck behind a tourist bus and on the back it said Mercedes 9-speed after that it didn't seem so important how many gears I had.I always tell guys in bars that I was in the SAS. After that they don't seem to be interested in my pickup.

May 11May 11 I pimped my Mitsubishi Pajero 2,5l sport diesel to 260 HP through mapping... that's enough.
May 11May 11 I pimped my Toyota Vigo 3.0 diesel Auto to Diesel + LPG and got a significant increase in performance, I'm not sure of the output but comparing it next to cars that were about 6.5 seconds to 100 kmhr, I had the edge.A dirt cheap conversion and saves money too.

I've often wondered about LPG supplementation on diesel engines but hadn't found any non-commercial applications of it. I know it's not straightforward because LPG burns very hot so this would be a risk to the head gasket and the turbo vanes. Also if too much is added there would be a risk of knocking (pre-detonation) - too much of that can shatter pistons and that tends to spoil one's day.I'd be interested in how you achieved your set-up. Was it a home-brew experiment or a professionally designed and fitted system?p.s. I taught my son how to work on cars. He has successfully modified his 1.8 Mazda MX-5 back in the UK and can run up to 400hp reliably but usually runs around 350hp on the road when not driving on track days. Amongst the many changes, we changed the diff ratio to get more speed, seam-welded the engine bay and front of the car and fitted a roll cage for extra rigidity, and fitted a front splitter because we were aware that other fast MX-5's tend to go light on the front when moving quickly. After running it in, we took it for a test run on the A1 one dark, quiet night. We used GPS to know how fast it was going once we got into serious territory because the standard speedometer only goes up to 130mph. My son eased off at 179mph even though it was still accelerating because it was so far beyond anything we'd seen from it before. My son hasn't felt the need to explore greater speeds but drifts it well and sometimes beats good track cars like Ariel Atoms. Edited May 11May 11 by IsaanT
May 11May 11 It was an LPG outfit in Chiang Rai that converted it, they had never done one before and mine was their first and probably only one.It used Diesel when cold and once warm diesel up to about 1,500rpm and then A mixture of both.It was like a kick in the pants when it came on, it could sometimes squeal the back tyres. It was incredibly noisy. The engine sounded like a very noisy sewing machine with lots of clacking but I put about 20,000km after that without problem. The only issue I had with it was an electrical isolation valve on the LPG tank. Shut off the ignition and it should release the solenoid, it didn’t and the battery would go flat if you didn’t drive it for a couple of days. That truck used to surprise everyone, it was very quick.
