May 9May 9 Popular Post Hi Bangkok people. I started tracking Guinness prices, happy hours and pub locations across Bangkok after realizing a few lovely pints can quickly empty the wallet. Someone had to do it, so I built a small tracker for anyone hunting for a decent-value Guinness: guinnessthailand.comHopefully others find it useful. Let me know if places are missing, prices have changed, or where you’ve had an absolute creamer! Edited May 9May 9 by Pints of Bangkok fix typo

May 9May 9 A pint of Guinness in Dublin is around 650 Euros. That's a about 250THB. In Englands cheaper pubs it's possible to find 3.50 to 5.00 quid a pint (180 - 240 THB) so I can't say that Guinness is overpriced here. But, draught Guinness in cans (very drinkable) can be found in UK supermarkets at about 1GBP per 440ml can. No such value here in Thailand.

No such value here in Thailand. As I just said, approx Bt.60 per pint of canned Guiness.Decent quality at the right price.I would like to have a draught Guiness, but I probably will not pay Bt.290.Instead, if I could get a pint for Bt.100, at some pub, and if the quality was miraculous, then I would compromise, and buy three pints.Don't they have Happy Guiness Hour, or something? Also, I would not go to BKK for that.I would prefer to have three in Chiang Mai, instead, at Bt100 per pint.

Save 750 baht!Pointless post, obviously never heard of the concept of comparing apples with apples. How can you compare Thai beers with Guinness and a Thai soi food meal with a roast dinner, or going out for a meal and a drink instead of sitting at home. For some reason I thought he'd improved recently, but seems not.Post count still comfortably over 30 a day though. May 9May 9 The lowest priced Guinness in Bangkok I have had is Buddy's Bar (there's a few along Sukhumvit) 270 a pint.

Guiness is too heavy to really enjoy and 300 baht is a lot. These fake Irish bars are not Thai culture or Asian culture. The food is slop and the beers all overpriced. English brown ales are better if you want a UK beer. More drinkable.
May 9May 9 Fun fact. Every single Thai women that likes to drink a bit finds Guinness truly revolting. I was lucky to get laid after such dates. Most prefer Thai beers, some even like Budweiser. But not the black slop.

Every layer adds cost.Thailand has high alcohol import taxes so guiness etc get hit hard with import duty, excise tax, VAT, and distributor margins. The tax structure strongly favours local beer.Leo is locally brewed at huge scale made domestically by Boon Rawd Brewery, so production and transport costs are far lower. It’s also positioned as an everyday working/middle-class beer.Guinness is a niche product in Thailand with fewer people drink stout in Thailand’s climate. Lower demand means bars move fewer kegs, which increases cost per serving and risk of waste.Draft systems are expensive and Guinness requires specialised gas blends and proper draft handling. Bars are partly covering the slower turnover and maintenance. There is also Positioning and branding - Guinness is marketed globally as a premium imported beer.
May 10May 10 A mate in the UK likes a shot of Port or Cointreau in his Guiness... I think the Port version is known as a 'poor mans black-velvet' - whereas a real 'black-velvet' is Guiness mixed with Champagne. So GG... before splitting the G - consider the additional cost of 'going posh'....

Let me guess you're old and don't drink at all.You can't get a pint of chang or tiger for less than 90b unless it's bottom keg swill I suspect that the entire keg is imported. Not only is that a hassle, but there are taxes. In addition to that I'm guessing that there is additional gear that goes with that particular keg setup so I was too assure you get a proper pint. I wouldn't pay it but my guess is about 275 baht wouldn't be out of line. Me... I'm perfectly firing with singha bottles and scotch at home
