monochrome photocopies ?

Featured Replies

Is there anytime that monochrome copies are not excepted at immigration or driving licence renewal?

Reason being colour on the printer stops working black is OK

I have a B/W laser printer, use it for everything and never a problem.

Extension based on marriage will require very specific photos.

Suggest you use print shop for this upcoming extension.

Also color for application TM7 photo.

Curious why you may want colour photocopies unless you are purely referring to copying a photograph?

OP stated photos for Extension.

Assume based on marriage.

Photo requirements are specific and particular.

Depends on where you live. I live 2 hours away from immigration ... or other cities.

I'm also again going for extension based on marriage. I already got my portrait for TM7.
When I went back to get the 2 A4 sized pages with 2 photos each, their printer was broken and not due to be repaired until weeks after my appointment date set by the IO.

That shop is the only place in our District doing color page prints. I asked if the Amphur office or Tessabaan office had a color printer. Nope. It seems ridiculous to require formats that local government offices don't use. I'm running down rumors that a friend of a step-daughter has a color printer to print the 2 page PDF in duplicate. (PDF so the photos also fit on the page in the way the IO requires.)
Am I suppose to order a color printer so I can supply 4 color pages this year?
An option is to add locating and getting the pages printed - in addition to getting to the bank that same morning... or printing the 4x6 photos in duplicate and cutting them to fit onto the A4 paper.
All this for supplying color photos instead of clear grayscale laser prints of the same people in the same rooms, or in front of the same house that are already on file from years.

I know I'll find a way to comply, but venting because of the current frustration level.

Brave New World, a science-fiction novel by Aldous Huxley would suggest to buy a new printer.

One of the factors I took into account when deciding where to reside.

And not married to a Thai lady, I was just asking if monochrome photocopies would do for all forms required, not including photos.

Up to now I have always used colour for bankbook -house book driving license-passport

For my marriage extension, I provide colour for photos of my family and me, non-colour for everything else.

Driving license renewal same.

I printed my (4) photos for extension in black and white; no problems in Pathum Thani

In my experience, which is over 25 years, Immigration and most Thai government offices ONLY accept monochrome copies of documents. Photos are the only thing I know of that need to be in color.

Extension based on marriage requires photos from the street, at the door and assorted images inside the home. Lampang (under direction from Chiang Mai) instructed me to print 2 per page, leaving room at the bottom for a block form to be stamped and signed.
Every other portion of the extension paperwork is monochrome.
The one local print shop annually gives densely colored images - but this year my timing hit them while their printer is out of service. The step-daughter's friend did use his personal dot matrix color printer to print the images, but is is a faded ghost of what I usually submit to immigration. My laser prints are cleaner and I plan to bring both sets along to immigration next week.

Oh, and no, I don't intend to buy a printer for 4 pages a year. Ink cartridges dry up and another printer is clutter.

Well, when you go to immigration, immigration's photocopier machine guy, which is right next to the ticket queue line automatically photocopies everything in black & white, so I'm presuming that it's standard for immigration to accept this. Everything I've ever presented to immigration has been like this for so many years, always black & white.

Great, so that's pics sorted, now filling out all the forms, blue of black pens. Does it really matter ?, I just bought a few blue ones at Lotus's

I always use a black pen. Doubt they care the colour of the pen.

Not really. Some folk fill in forms on computer. Don't know why.

Suggest use Blue pen especially for signature as it contrasts forms.

Most forms are signed in front of io.

They will give you a blue pen

Blank fillable Immigration forms often posted by the late UJ.
Once completed, each year you just have to change the date and print.

Excellent. Saves few minutes.

Which forms are you referring to?

Surely not TM7. Has very few fields.

Also some offices update forms and insist on latest edition.

TM7, TM8, STM2, TM47, TM30.

I downloaded all forms and completed, minus the date, then print and save as a master.
Each year, or whenever required, I just copy the master and fill in the date ........... saves repetition.

From OP... "And not married to a Thai lady"

So retirement. Same as myself.

So TM7 and couple of acknowledgement forms. Sign on the spot.

Seriously?

For extension based on marriage perhaps. But not necessary

Happy you find it amusing Jack.
TM7, TM8, STM2, STM9, STM11 .......... you continue filling them out each year, I just print and date.

Absolute nonsense. I attend immigration with my TM7 + required docs and in the main banking requirements..

The doc check chick at L1 (CW) gives me couple of forms to sign.

That's all I do .

What point are you trying to make.

Think you Korat?

Who cares. Very little advantage in prepared forms..

Especially for retirement which is OP situation

JMHO,

I find it easier, convenient and more 'professional looking' to have everything in PDF format, completed by typewriter mode, in a dedicated folder on my PC. As already stated, print and date. If any form has been updated (which is rare) or added by immigration, it's mostly reported on AN, and a download location is mentioned, so it's easy to keep track. I've been doing it this way for many years, and my local IO prefer it as it's easier for them to read the fillable data! Some people's handwriting is poor due to a lack of space available.

To me, it makes perfect sense, but for others, it may seem absolute nonsense. Each to their own.

Liquorice, I like your approach.

Anyone have the download link(s) to these forms?

Thank you Jack.
