Echoes of Love: “It ain’t nothing but a heartache.”

Dear Folks,

Probably the single greatest album that has ever been created, about LOVE, particulary, is that created by the Doobie Brothers.

There are just so many great lines in this music.

I really do not care if you might disagree, simply because I know you can’t see.

What are your favorite lines from this great album, anyway?

Truly the greatest album ever created.

I enjoyed this music in both the USA and in Hong Kong, on the rooftop of some Kowloon highrise, at the time.

I love girls.

But, I love girls who love this music, even more.

Simply incredible.

Trump never listened to this kind of music, obviously, because he was all about grabbing them by the puttyy, as he clearly stated.

He never understood the respect one must always have for women, even earthy women.

Best regards,

Gamma

Note:  This is the greatest album I have ever listened to.  I was so sad when the Doobie Brothers stopped making music.

This is really the thing that finally drove me crazy.

I stopped smoking them, a very long time ago, for my health....

I have nothing against anyone else smoking doobies.

Anyway, such a great album.

Reminds me of my second wife.

Best album ever assembled...IMHO.....

Note: I realize, now, that I made the correct decision...taking you off my ignore list.

Still gives me goosebumbs, these days.....

And, the memory of my second wife, when we did it, together, to this song.....

Still gets me hard as ironwood......

Excellent posters here on TV, such as you, are just too few and far between.

The privilege is all mine, for having you comment on my Topics.

Thank you.

She had not even been born at the time.

Are you joking?

I hate girls like Celine.....

But, I am biased.

Enamored and at a loss for words. I think it's because of the doobies.

"I got to hear it from you"

"Was it ever true?"

Wow, these guys are just SO TUNED IN to young love.

Also, I guess, after reading the comments on TV, that some old guys are asking the same questions.....

So, YES.....

The Doobie Bothers' music is timeless, especially in Thailand.

Changed the band's sound around from mainstream rock to more R&B influenced. Not a bad thing, although gone was the energy they started with into new territory. West Coast or Yacht Rock instead of classic rock. One of the few bands that changed their sound and succeeded, although I still prefer Tom Johnston's time.

They recently released another album with both singers which was decent.

Not the best love oriented album as there are many more that have that tone, Enya's Amarantine for one, Seventh Sojourn by the Moody Blues and Infinity by Journey others. .

It seemed to me that they were singing about love lost, and regret.

In this, they seemed not to do poorly.

Anyway, that was a very long time ago.

Add a shatter snake to your doob...you might have a few choice words after you hit it.

True story, about 35 years ago I was living on a tropical island and spending the afternoon at one of my usual beach spots. One of the Doobies, Michael McDonald, was having lunch with a good friend of mine who was a local concert promoter at the time. They were sitting at a beachfront cafe a few dozen meters away from me. My friend invited me to come over to join them and meet McDonald, but I passed. I was not so keen on Doobies back then at all I guess.

Great story.

Very interesting, for sure.

You missed out....BIG TIME....as Trump might say....

Was that tropical island you mention.....Pitcairn, perchance?

I Heard it Through the Grapevine, the cover by CCR, Creedence Clearwater Revival, is far better especially the 16 minuet version.

NO!!!!

It was NOT....

Lou sang: The colored girls go.....do, do, do, do....

He never mentioned black girls, once.

Don't ask me why.
