I recently went to the head office to complain that my transfers from their London branch showed as internal transfers in my bank book which rang alarm bells when I did my annual renewal. For various reasons .I have instructed that the transfers be in Baht and I am aware this costs more than a GBP transfer or a Wise transfer. The staff were surprised that no credit advice slips were available to pacify Immigration. This month's transfer shows FTR so someone obviously took notice of my polite complaint.

You should continue with WISE

The code BBL use is FTT.

You can request credit advice.

Assume on WISE you tick "funds for long term stay"

Presumably you're using their facility as set out in the following link (click on the heading titled "Fees and conversion options")?

Are you making the transfers in (1) THB as converted from GBP based on the London branch's exchange rate, or (2) GBP with the conversion to THB being performed at the Thai end based on the current TT buying rate? If (1) they will probably show as internal transfers. But if (2) they should receive the coveted FTT (standing for Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) coding for IMM purposes in your passbook.

TThank you for the above information. The coding is now FTT as you correctly stated and not FTR - my mistake . The money was being changed into Baht in the UK as the website says but it would seem that it is now arriving as £ and being changed here. Rather than confuse the issue I shall let sleeping dogs sleep having achieved my aim.⁶
