Ya know, it's interesting. My ex's Canadian parents and I were civil with each other and even had occasional fun times. But there was really no love there. I don't mean at all to say there was no love lost between us, just that we weren't tight.

On the other hand, my wife's parents love me fully and completely and I them. We have taken them abroad and around Thailand. They have lived with us in our Bangkok house as well as our house in Canada. They are as loving as my own parents.

Financially, my wife orders them three meals a day and sends them all kinds of fruit. They don't really need it but it makes for a close relationship.

I couldn't be happier with them
