Thailand, the so-called Land of Smiles, has really nailed one thing way better than beaches and cheap booze: hypocrisy on steroids.

Every sleazy scandal that slithers out gets the same tired script.... wasn't us. Prostitutes flooding the scene? Gotta be those Vietnamese girls. Scam call centers popping up like mushrooms? Blame the Chinese. Drug mess? Indians. Some border beef with Cambodia? Those peaceful neighbors started it. Deepfake romance scams? Nigeria. Thailand.... always the noble guardian of peace and all.

A place drowning in corruption, trafficking rings, dirty politics, and enough shady deals to make your skin crawl... and yet they've got the ballz to lecture everyone else like their hands are squeaky clean. Instead of fixing the dumpster fire at home, it's all propaganda, finger-pointing at foreigners, and hoping the world buys the innocent act.

Come on, at some point this gets pathetic. If your country's name keeps popping up in every global <deleted>show ....exploitation, crime, the works. Maybe quit the "everybody but us" routine. It's not clever anymore, it's just sad. Sort your own backyard before pointing at the rest of the planet. The excuses are wearing thin.

Expect a wave of approving emojis as soon as the bootlicking expats regain consciousness.

Thailand is, at least as far I know and experienced the easiest, safest and most convenient country to live in.

You're just upset because they reduced the Canadian VISA free entry from 60 to 30 days.

That's what happens when you let any low lives carry a Canadian passport!

How do you hack it in Thailand?

I got here at 38. When I eventually come back, I’ll probably still be younger than you were on arrival.

When did you move to Thailand? One foot already in grave?

Yeah, but we're happy with our lives (not to mention fully funded) and you're clearly not!

I think your first four words sum him up perfectly. The last two are not really necessary. But the fantasy of owning a 7-Eleven definitely gives him a solid Woodrow. He probably wets the bed dreaming about churning out toasties for the sweaty drunken slobs on Soi Bhuakhao in the wee hours.

Still, maybe do not be too hard on him just now. He is likely in deep mourning right now after his man god, Toshifumi Suzuki, just kicked the sandwich iron . I am surprised the angry Canuck can even get a single cylinder firing at the moment. He's probably weeping as we speak.

Especially you by defrauding the UK government with 2% annual pension increases.

4.5% and 5% this year, sadly taxed at 20% so only 3.7% and 4% in the end.

The previous years at 10% and 8% were great though!

That's rich coming from a bloke who writes topics as thrilling as a malfunctioning fridge magnet.

So how is the 7 Eleven franchise application going? Still fantasizing about saluting the toastie machine at midnight while Bhuakhao numpties whinge at you about how much you need to melt their cheese?

What are "low lives' ???

And on the contrary"high lives"?

And where YOU belong to? I dare not to say

Will it be a big 7-Eleven or a small 7-Eleven?

Bignok needs to know.

True, if it was modern it sucks. Old trains, old hotels, old fashioned women. The women look like women.

Western women look like rugby players.

The UK Basic Pension is around the 200 quid a week mark, = GBP10,000. The threshold to pay Income tax is 12.5k ish.

So you are paying tax on whatever private pensions you have on top.

Wow, I'm eating a lot of red thumbs on this topic. That's the sound of balding sexpats furiously typing from their Pattaya studios.

Yeah, everyone else must be the problem. It couldn't possibly be you.

I totally agree with him but I'm certainly not bitter about Thailand. After 25 years here I soon learned to mind my own business and go with the flow. Anyway that's his opinion and he's entitled to it.

But benefits aren't taxable income and you don't report them on your income tax forms.
