May 28May 28 US Strikes Iran Again As Fragile Ceasefire Nears CollapseNew American Attacks Hit Strategic Iranian PortThe United States has launched fresh military strikes against Iran for the second time in just three days, dramatically escalating tensions despite ongoing peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran.US Central Command confirmed American forces struck a military site near the strategic Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas after claiming it was preparing to launch attack drones near the Strait of Hormuz.According to Centcom, four Iranian “one-way attack drones” were also shot down after posing what the US described as a threat to shipping and military assets in the region.Iranian media reported explosions east of Bandar Abbas shortly after the strikes.Strait Of Hormuz Crisis Continues To Threaten World EconomyThe latest attacks come as the world watches the increasingly fragile ceasefire that ended months of conflict between the US and Iran. The Strait of Hormuz remains the centre of the crisis, with thousands of commercial vessels still facing disruption in one of the world’s most important oil shipping lanes.Nearly a fifth of the world’s oil and gas supplies pass through the narrow waterway, meaning even limited military action sends shockwaves through global energy markets.American officials insisted the latest operation was “measured” and “purely defensive”, claiming the strikes were intended to maintain the ceasefire rather than destroy it.Earlier this week, US forces also attacked Iranian missile sites and boats allegedly attempting to lay naval mines in the Strait.Iran Accuses America Of Violating CeasefireTehran reacted furiously to the renewed attacks, branding them a “grave violation” of the ceasefire agreement.Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it had downed a US drone and fired on additional American aircraft entering Iranian airspace, although officials did not specify exactly when the confrontation occurred.Iranian leaders warned that “no act of hostility” would go unanswered. The growing exchange of strikes threatens to derail already difficult negotiations aimed at reaching a longer-term settlement between the two countries.Trump Warns Iran To Accept US TermsPresident Donald Trump struck a combative tone during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, warning Iran that America could still “finish the job” if negotiations fail. While Trump recently claimed a peace agreement had been “largely negotiated”, he admitted Washington remains dissatisfied with Tehran’s position.“They just want to make a deal — I don’t think they have a choice,” Trump told reporters. The president has repeatedly demanded Iran surrender its enriched uranium stockpile and agree to strict limits on its nuclear programme. At the same time, Trump continues to push Gulf nations toward joining the Abraham Accords and strengthening relations with Israel as part of a broader regional realignment.Ceasefire Hanging By A ThreadDespite ongoing diplomacy, the situation remains dangerously unstable. One missile strike, drone attack or tanker incident in the Strait of Hormuz could rapidly collapse negotiations and trigger a far wider regional war involving the United States, Iran and multiple Middle Eastern powers. For now, both sides appear determined to combine military pressure with diplomacy — but the ceasefire is increasingly looking less like peace and more like a temporary pause before the next confrontation.SOURCE

The longer this stalemate goes on the more volatile things become. Even the experts disagree what happens next.
May 28May 28 So, is THAT how you go about securing a Nobel Peace Prize? On top of that, threatening an ally (frankly I had never heard of Oman before this) if they don't behave?WHY can't his sycophants see how screwed up this is?!?!?
May 28May 28 According to Trump and his puppets they smashed all Iranian missile and Drone sites? obviously not. Some ships turned off there Radars to try to sneak through the Straits and were rumbled by the IRGC who warned them to turn around or risk attack they refused so were attacked by Drones from onshore facilities the Yanks thought they would attack these facilities which resulted in Iran launching retaliatory strikes on American bases in Kuwait. Again Trump ignores the ceasefire. Then his arrogence is shown by thinking the Iranians can trust them.
